TONIGHT, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH, Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno comes to The Cooperage for an intimate performance on the Harborfront!

Since moving to Los Angeles from her native Guatemala, Gaby has released nine albums, won a Grammy for her project X Mí , earned Grammy nominations for her albums Alegoría and Illusion, and won two Latin Grammy Awards. Moreno also co-wrote the Parks and Recreation theme song, which earned her an Emmy nomination. Moreno has shared the international stage with pop music luminaries such as Bono, Andrea Boccelli, Tracy Chapman, Ani DiFranco, Punch Brothers, Hugh Laurie, Buena Vista Social Club, Calexico, David Gray, and many more. Additionally, she also sang the theme song and voiced Marlena in Disney's children's television series Elena of Avalor, she was featured on Guillermo Del Toro's newest Netflix show ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ and she received a 2023 Guild of Music Supervisors Awards nomination for her song on the film ‘The Valet.’

Money Chicha is an Austin, Texas based group featuring members of the Grammy-award winning Latin orchestra Grupo Fantasma and its offshoot funk outfit Brownout which performs a fuzzed-out, reverb-drenched and percussion-heavy style of music inspired by the sounds of Peru and Colombia in the 60s and 70s. This style of music, sometimes called “chicha” music, is known for its infectious Latin beat, its psychedelic, surf guitar pyrotechnics and its melodies influenced by the indigenous culture of the Andes mountains.

Founded in 1997 by Afeni Shakur, mother of the multi-talented Tupac Shakur, the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, Inc. (TASF) originally began as the Shakur Family Foundation. Afeni formed the organization to bring quality arts training to young people. Over the span of 20 years, a range of creative arts education was offered via annual ‘Performing Arts Day Camps’ for ages 12 through 18 at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Disciplines such as creative writing, vocal technique, acting, stage set design, dance, poetry & spoken word, provided clarity around the business of entertainment.
