Theatre in the Round’s “King Lear” Is a Classic Play with a Classic Touch This month, Theatre in the Round opened its 73rd season with a rendition of Shakespeare’s King Lear.
Theatre in the Round is bringing the classic (and bloody) Shakespearean tragedy KING LEAR to life on their unique and historic stage, with a female actor playing the title character. Read our bloggers thoughts about the show (link to full reviews in comments), and see the show before it closes on October 6.
The Stages of MN writes, "Lear is played by Meri Golden and she does an excellent job in the role. Her manic pacing and constant movement is a nice physical expression of the Kings restless and unmoored mind."
Cherry and Spoon agrees: "She's fantastic, and it's wonderful to see a female actor get a crack at this iconic role. She's supported by a large and talented cast, and sparse but effective design, for an engaging take on this classic."

Individual Tickets are now on sale for REUNION (AFTER THE END OF THE WORLD) by Minnesota native Will Quam, featuring a cast of students from FAIR School for Arts.
After The Event wiped out civilization as we know it, a group of students walled themselves in their former school to build a new society, free from the past. But when a group of outside kids show up, the past and present reunite in a play about what it means to be a kid in extraordinary circumstances. A post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi story for all ages.

Thank you PhenoMNal Twin Cities, for this lovely review!
King Lear at Theater in the Round - PhenoMNal twin cities In the midst of a heated election season, Shakespeare’s masterful King Lear is the perfect reminder of the consequences of living in a “post-truth” society.
