Sanford held our 2nd Community Project Service Day on Thursday, May 30th, 2024. While 8th graders were completing their own MYP Community Projects, 6th & 7th graders participated in service projects to help the community with their advisories. At Sanford, students rotated through stations to make over 500 sandwiches for The Sandwich Project, 32 Birthday Party Bags for families at Division of Indian Work, 100+ Hygiene kits for Avivo, countless seed bombs, cards for kids in hospitals, and positive sidewalk chalk messages. Thank you to our staff and parent volunteers who helped make it happen! We also had advisories who left campus to visit a preschool and feeder schools to build relationships between the schools. Others painted a Sanford mural, did neighborhood cleanup projects, cleaning storm drains, picking up trash by the river and cleaning graffiti. It was a memorable learning day for all.
Join us this Thursday, May 9 at 6 p.m. for the Listening Session with Superintendent Dr. Lisa Sayles-Adams!
