Congratulations, Hangasa, on receiving the Bilingual Platinum Seal award in Oromo from the Minnesota Bilingual Seals Program! This is the highest level of award and Lincoln’s first student to earn it in Oromo! Hangasa is now eligible to receive up to 4 semesters-worth of college credit from MN state colleges and universities! Way to go!

After reading about other immigrants’ stories and writing their own, Lincoln Newcomer students visited the Minnesota History Center to learn about Minnesota’s first people- the Dakota and Ojibwe.

Staff-led working groups in the areas of Family and Community Engagement, School Climate and Culture, and Curriculum and Instruction development and implement initiatives throughout the year that support Lincoln’s mission and vision. We are honored to receive this recognition.

On April 30th, students in Lincoln International High School‘s newcomer program toured the Minnesota State Capitol building as part of their social studies class. Students visited different branches of government, and also met and spoke with Representative Samakab Hussein, who encouraged them to work hard in school, respect their teachers, and pursue higher education opportunities in the state.
Lincoln International High School is receiving applications for four open school board positions. Board members are elected for a 3-year term with regular board meetings held once a month.
