Please help us welcome our newest clinical team members Shelby and Duazong. Shelby is a licensed hygienist with 13 years of experience and Duazong is a licensed assistant that will be our clinical lead. We are delighted to have them and cannot wait for you all to meet them.

Our office will be closed Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5, in observance of our national holiday. We hope you enjoy this time with your friends and family.

Monday morning GBT training for the Metro Perio Crew. Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is one of the procedures we use to give our patients an advantage to help treat their gum disease and reduce tissue inflammation caused by biofilm.

He started off as an intern and has moved his way up to our office administrator. We are so proud to have him as part of our team. Please help us wish Joey a happy work anniversary today!

There is a lot happening on the Mall the next 4 days. Promenade Du Nord the magic of Paris in Downtown Minneapolis. The kickoff featured 1,000 gymnasts from around the world. Come check out the festivities now through Sunday!

Congratulations to Joey! He graduated with his Master’s Degree in Data Science from the University of St. Thomas yesterday. We look forward to seeing what his future holds and the opportunities that will come his way!

We're thrilled for our intern Elliott, who celebrated his graduation from the University of St. Thomas tonight. This fall, he'll embark on an exciting new adventure at the University of Minnesota's Dental School. We couldn’t be more proud of him!

As we close out another fantastic year with the City of Lakes Study Club, we couldn't have asked for a better finale than our two-hour cruise aboard the Elixir on Lake Minnetonka. Huge thanks to all our wonderful members for making this year truly memorable. Can't wait for what next year has in store!

Congratulations to our team’s March Madness Bracket Challenge winner, Summer. She had both Purdue and UConn in the championship game with UConn winning 🏆

Today our assistant Marilin is one step closer to obtaining her phlebotomist certification. She decided to take this course to enhance patient care when PRF is recommended for treatment to give our patients their best outcome. Thank you Marilin for always striving for excellence and thank you metro perio team for volunteering for Marilin today.

City of Lakes Study Club meeting with doctors and clinical team tonight. We had a presentation by Betsey Nelson from Veil Wild Orthodontics. Betsey talked to us about “The Good, The Bad and The Blurry” photos and how to capture the perfect patient photos. It was a great night of hands-on learning.

A little Friday fun with lots of laughs, good conversation and delicious food. A great way to head into the weekend.

The City of Lakes Hygiene Study Club kick-off happened tonight and did not disappoint. Our hygienists had the opportunity to try the new Reveal FGS system from Vision by design and learn about the Oral B IO electric toothbrush. The best way to learn is by learning together.

We are so fortunate to have such a talented, driven, Office Manager. Thank you Summer for all that you do to help make Metropolitan Periodontists such an incredible place to be! You are an elevator of those around you and motivate us to do our best. Happy Office Manager Month!

Yesterday we stopped by Lakeside Orthodontics - St. Paul for some delicious ice cream at their annual ice cream social. It was fun to see the community turn out they had for their event. Thank you for the invite Dr. Syverson.

We work, live and play by our core values at Metro Perio. One of our core values is Growth Mindset. Our desire to learn new techniques and grow in our abilities to be better each and everyday is what motivates us. Dr. Kersten sets the perfect example of what growth mindset looks like. He is in Germany this week learning new techniques that will enhance his surgical skills.

Ron from Nicollet Station Dental came by today. This is the moment we discovered that Joey and Ron have the same style when it comes to their work attire 🤩

The City of Lakes Study Club event at The MN United Game this past Saturday. The event was a fun way to end our 2022-2023 academic year. We are so grateful to all of our members for their contributions to the club and the commitments to improve the level of care we all provide to our patients and the communities we serve. We enjoy the opportunity to collaborate and work with all of you.
