When Mee first came to us, she was experiencing severe tooth pain and had advanced gum and bone loss around her teeth. She was used to only going to the dentist when she had pain, but we knew that her case required a more comprehensive approach. 🦷Maddie's front tooth was always yellower and darker than the rest. Though she felt no pain, she knew something wasn't right. 🚨It turned out that the tooth had lost its ability to feel. There was necrotic tissue on this tooth, which caused it to appear darker than the rest.
🌟 removed the nerve and filled the space with gutta percha to help this tooth last longer. In order to improve the esthetics of her smile and to protect her tooth, we designed a cosmetic dental crown for the tooth. In this situation, we could have veneered the neighboring front tooth, but since the neighboring tooth was very healthy, we didn't want to compromise it for purely aesthetic reasons. Dr. Yang knew we could get her a beautiful aesthetic natural result with just one crown and composite bonding on the adjacent front tooth.
