After an epic 4500 mile cross-country road trip with my besties, I am ready to get back to work. I was dying to go through wedding photos- and before you ask, I do not do weddings any more. But I've known Kyra for almost a decade- from when she was my intern, to shooting her senior photos, to having her become a photographer herself (to which she is amazing!) and having her rent studio space from me. It was an honor to photographer her and Brandon's big day, and we got to do some very untraditional bride and groom portraits- which I can't post but I think they will be over the moon about! xoxo I love you guys and thanks for sharing your day with me! I am super bad about posting sneak peeks- I just can't keep up. But if I've known you since you were born, you make the cut. This was such a fun (and emotional...they grow up too fast!) session and I am just so proud to know cool kids like Louis. 🥰

The moment I walked up to Emily, her eyes took my breath away. Thousands of sunflowers had nothing on the inner and outer beauty of this girl. We had such a blast at her session- so much that we kept shooting past her time...and made more plans to do it again! Charley is the third in the family to be in front of my lens. It was pure magic. These could technically be her "college" senior photos- but she was a senior during the pandemic, and deserved a do-over

We may do some wild things here, but be rest assured we will do beautiful, joyful, smiling photos that will make everyone happy.

That moment when the consult energy goes from a 2 to a 10 when they realize we don't have to do anything basic...
Did you know that doing a custom senior session means you actually get to take unique and creative shots that show off all your quirks and passions? Don't get me wrong, I know that some people will still want "traditional" images- for grandparents and the like and we can do those (aka close up and smiling/yearbook photo), but for the rest of the session...we can make it as cool as you are. For real.
I actually had a moment where I thought "maybe you are just getting TOO weird and people won't want you." but then I just booked 2 outrageously outside of the box and fabulous senior sessions by people that actually like that I am weird. Go figure. 🤓 So there you have it. Keeping it weird since 2000. Or however long I have been doing this...
I also fell off my chair during the zoom call today. They say "be yourself", but I'm not sure anyone is ready for me most days. I for sure don't take myself too seriously.

Things are just starting to bloom and I am here for it. When I am not in my own garden, I'm sticking a senior in a flower field. Summer colors make me happy.

Insta was cropping my photos like I was a noob. So be rest assured I won't crop the top off the top of your head. (previous posts made my photos look dumb...)
But these happy photos DO give me summer vibes, so that is excellent!

Ethan is the second in the family to be in front of my camera- and this guy has a serious eyebrow game going on. We met at Taylor's Falls, wearing questionable footwear (me), scaled some cliffs (both), and played with smoke bombs (him). If my insurance guy is reading this we 1. Drove out into the country where no homes were at, were on a dirt road and had a fire extinguisher, and 2. They brought smoke bombs and I am not responsible for the crazy places the smoke went. (everyone was fine, even thought the smoke in the eyes made for some funny photos.)

Lainey...where to start? I remember where I was sitting talking to her mom the night she was born. I've seen her in every phase of life, and I am so proud of this kind, beautiful and talented young woman. She will be playing basketball at St. Kate's this fall and studying nursing. But she better still show up for our annual cookie making sleepover and cabin weekend. xoxo

Em is such a gorgeous girl and has faced so much in her life- she is truly such a strong young woman and her session was a blast. I can't wait to see what she accomplished next in Arizona!

Fun fact- Jess married my son in second grade. While, the marriage may not have lasted, my love for this girl has never faded. She is an incredible artist and dancer. I don't even know how she can kick that high! But her session had all kinds of weather in one afternoon- sun, super dark and overcast and pouring rain. Right after the white dress photo was taken, we ran to our cars and I literally launched myself into the backseat to avoid the deluge of rain. Great memories make great photos. :)

A formal outfit is always a great idea! One outfit- 3 completely different styles of photos. Sebastian was one of the most photogenic and kind guys I ever had the privilege of working with and i can't wait to do his family shoot next! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I've known Anna since before she was born, and if you are lucky enough to spend time with her, you will revel in her joy and free spirit. It was an absolute honor to be able to take her grad photos! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Jacqueline is an amazing musician, so we did a second session for her Rockstar shoot and it was unbelievable to say the least- we recreated 12 album covers- it pushed my editing to the next level (No Ai was used in the editing- that would have been too easy!)
