Here she is! My sweet, beautiful niece, Sophie! I met her and my sister at my dad’s place in Durand last night for this session and I hope she loves them! I think she looks gorgeous, but I’m not sure I’d have recognized her in some of these if I hadn’t taken them myself. 😭😭😭

Happy Birthday, Sophia! 🎈🎊🎉I have gotten to know this family really well over the years because they have chosen my first year package with all three kids… I’m going to miss seeing them every few months! 😭🥲My heart!!! 💜

I think I met Ella at her baby sister’s newborn shoot when she was around five but I can’t be entirely sure without asking her mom. In any event, It’s hard for me to believe that she is going to be a graduating senior this year (and that I am really as old as I am!)

She chose the State Capitol for the location, and she was such a great model; I hardly posed her at all!

I watched this kid grow up. ♥️

Sharing a couple more senior sessions from last season. I’m booking now for the class of 2024!

Henry loves, loves England and he wanted his senior session to look like it was shot in an English garden. He picked the location and I think we pulled it off… He’d know better than I. I haven’t been there yet!

Met this sweet family at their home for their holiday session this year. Last time I saw Evangeline was about a year ago. Now she’s talking —a lot—and I was almost taken aback by how maturely she speaks for someone so little! 😁 She told me she has her own phone to visit her best friend (who is also her cousin) in Malaysia. 🥰

She’s such a dearie. ❤️ She let me know when she felt the session was over, and it was a good call.

I met up with these guys on one of the last memorably warmer days at the beginning of November. They have turned into such stunning young ladies, (and Moxie the dog is a beauty, too!) 🐶

While I was just touting outdoorsy/snowy family photo sessions, let’s face it: sometimes it’s just too 🤬 cold in this town. Thankful to have a studio space on those days!!

Hope everyone had a peaceful and joyous holiday season. I’m sitting down and wrapping up loose ends today after mine. Thought I’d get some more pre-holiday shots shared that I rushed to deliver just in time!

This sweet family brought their new dog Lucky with them this year - and I fell in love at first sight. Only 8 months old, and so well mannered! ❤️

I met this couple back in my old Burnsville studio YEARS ago, when I was photographing Stacey’s (the mom in these photos) sister’s newborn.

I remembered meeting her when she called me for maternity pics early in 2022, (and my memory is not even that great…) 😁

When we met again this year I hadn’t forgotten how beautiful and sweet and fun she and her husband are, so it’s only natural that they now have beautiful, sweet, and fun twins.

These girls are hearty. They sat in the snow in these cute holiday dresses without a care, and I love them!

If you’re wondering why there’s not snow in all the images, well it’s because the youngest boy was sick the first week and not at the top of his game- so I invited them back the for the next week’s mini sessions at the same location after it had snowed. Reinforcement of TWO things:

1. I really want everyone to feel good about their sessions and if things aren’t going well, sometimes it’s best to just try again another day.

2. Snowy photos are BEAUTIFUL. Some folks are hesitant to book outdoor shoots after the snow flies, but if you bundle up, it’s definitely worth the chill! Wear a coat, hat and mittens. (It’s Winter in Minnesota, after all…) Bring some warm drinks. (It helps.) These guys were served hot chocolate and warm cider and they were all happy and in good health the second week. I’m glad they came back! 🥰❤️🍁❄️

Just edited my first round of mini-session images from last Sunday. I’m heading back this afternoon for Round 2! I do not like being cold. I was hoping for a little more warmth today, but last weekend’s sessions went quick and I barely felt chilly at all. I tend to get regular clients for mini-sessions, and I always get to meet a few new friends, too.

I just love seeing this family every year. They are all super chill and super adorable. (Side note, I photographed the parents’ wedding years ago. These people have a great personal style. 😎😎😎 It’s still one of my favorites!)
