Towards the end of our 1st preschool year, we had the privilege of honoring the moms and dads of our preschoolers! The kids loved hosting their parents in their classrooms and having extra time to be with them!

We went on a field trip to Stages Theater to see “Maybe” last week. We even went on a big kid school bus to get there and back. The rides were full of giggly bumps and turns that “made us slide across our seats.”

We like to play in the snow as much as we can at Ridgewood Preschool! When it gets down to 20 degrees F or less, we are grateful to have a gigantic gymnasium to run and play in!

Six bikes and scooters recently arrived and a group of benevolent volunteers put them together for us! The kids have been having a ball with these new modes of transportation, but no one has been able to beat Mrs. Jodi on the scooter. She’s kinda old, not too fast on her feet, but lightening speed on a yellow scooter!

It’s been too long since we’ve shared the fun that’s been had at Ridgewood Preschool!

The day before Thanksgiving, we created cards that were shared at a seniors’ living center.

We also made two batches of Rice Krispie bars that we delivered to the Minnetonka Fire Department and the Minnetonka Police Department. Both civil service departments were graciously thankful that we thought of them.

Lastly, at snack time we went around the table and shared what we were thankful for about each student. One of our personal favorites was when we asked about one student, another immediately responded by saying “I’m thankful for this friend because she is always nice to everyone and she’s never mean.” ❤️.

It’s your lucky day! Since we are a new preschool, we are offering these ”How to Cook a Turkey” to all our followers for free! 😀😀😀

In years to come, I would not be surprised if The Food Network took us under their wing and we will have to charge BIG money for the Thanksgiving culinary advice from these precious preschoolers.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Ridgewood preschoolers participated in their own voting process on November 8th.

It was a pictorial ballot with a bowl of chocolate ice cream on the left and a bowl of vanilla ice cream on the right. These sweet preschoolers then trusted us to manually count the votes and vanilla won!

The children that voted for chocolate were a bit bummed that we would only be enjoying vanilla ice cream in class, but Ms. Kaitlyn quickly pointed out that even though we weren’t going to be eating chocolate ice cream, we were still getting ice cream in school! ❤️.

Since I was presiding over our preschool precinct, I had to be prepared with both chocolate and vanilla ice cream because we wouldn’t know the results until we had 100% of the votes reported. This preplanning may have allowed for preschool and church staff to enjoy a scoop of chocolate ice cream later that day. 🤪

Shout outs to Minnetonka voting precinct that votes at Ridgewood Church for giving the preschoolers their own “I Voted” stickers AND to St. Stephen Preschool for giving me the ice cream voting day idea. ❤️

Ridgewood Church is hosting a Family Friendly Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 30th from 3:30-5pm. There will be many cars for kids to visit and trunk hosts are working on fun themes, as well as, activities the kids can do at each trunk.

The church is hosting a popcorn bar, a hot cocoa bar, a bouncy house, and a couple of craft stations.

Participants can bring a carved pumpkin to enter into our carved pumpkin contest.

Trunk or Treat 2022 - Ridgewood Church Trunk or Treat is a FREE event for kids of all ages! There will be crafts, snacks, games, prizes, and plenty of TREATS! Be sure to invite your family, neighbors, and friends. Costumes are welcome, but not required (nothing scary, please). Register for an afternoon of fun and we will have a bag ready...

Ridgewood Preschool has been open for a month! Toot the horns, beat the drums and throw the confetti! We have had an incredible start! There is incredible amounts of joy and poignancy every day around here and those of us that work here keep pinching ourselves because we feel so blessed to be a part of these preschoolers' and families' lives! Here are just a few photos to show you how wonderful it is to be with these smart, creative, enthusiastic, and treasured children of God.

Favorite Books Camp at Ridgewood Church was one for the books! 😊 Camp Director Klaire had a Book Bistro for campers to "taste" a variety of book genres, we had a library dramatic play area set up, and there were some very special mystery readers that came to read one of their favorite books to the campers. It was the perfect camp theme to get us ready for a back to school mindset. We are REALLY missing all our campers at Ridgewood this week though! Time to start thinking up new fun ideas for Summer Camp 2023. ❤️

What a whirlwind of fun we had last week at Calling All Chefs camp!! There were clouds of flour, sticky fingers from hand rolling prep work, and gallons upon gallons of giggles! When we weren't creating our next snacking delight, we had tons of fun playing in our restaurant and grocery store dramatic play area.

Ridgewood Art Explosion Camp was colorful, eventful, and ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Time well spent, painting, acting, drawing, sculpting, and much, much more! We are so thankful to have Ridgewood Church and Preschool filled with the energy and giggles that only children can bring!

RIdgewood’s Animals and Habitats Camp was run simultaneously with Joy of Music Camp! From 9am-4pm these delightful youngsters were bopping around the building. The excitement was palpable. I believe this is exactly what was intended when Ridgewood invested in the renovations to their children’s ministry spaces and the investment in kids always brings about a multiplication of dividends! We are forever grateful!

Who out there needs a MONUMENTAL good time this coming week, July 11th-15th, 2022?

Come on over to Ridgewood to participate or volunteer for our 2022 VBS where we learn more and more about how God's greatness is MONUMENTAL! If you have not already registered yet, NO WORRIES! We are praying that many people come next Monday just because they feel led to be part of this exciting week.

VBS will be held Monday-Friday from 9:30am-11:45am!

The grade school campers in the afternoon picked out some natural materials to make bookmarks. As they put them together one of the campers asked if he could add a Bible verse to his and Ms. Klaire’s reaction was an elated and immediate, YES! ❤️. Here’s a few of those campers looking through Bibles to find a verse that each of them wanted on their beautiful bookmarks. It’s been a joy to be with preschoolers and older kids each day this week!

We are in the midst of Immersed in Nature camp! When these cuties haven’t been outside they’ve been playing in our outdoor theme room that includes a camp fire area, a fishing pond, a farmer’s market and flower shop. The campers had so many imaginative thoughts on how to explore!

Ridgewood Kid’s Ministry is hosting camps throughout the summer! Last week was “All Around the World” camp and these awesome campers were piloting the first Ridgewood Airlines airplane.

This past week, we traveled around the world in three short days! We were blessed with rich conversation about places we've visited, lived, and would love to go to! One of our amazing church members brought a beautiful array of possessions that she has collected from around the world! Thank you so much Carol Rinehimer! Our Ridgewood Airlines themed room was a big hit too! The campers did an amazing job enjoying a variety of snacks such as: crepes, naan bread, hummus, edamame, and pot stickers.

Happy Father's Day to all of the amazing dads, grandpas, and father figures that love up all those that look up to them, even when those kids are taller than they are.

Boy, did we ever create some brain cell steam last week at STEAM camp! Ms. Klaire and her campers were creating, inventing, and experimenting all day long! Here are just a few great pictures of their amazing days!
