Rest assured all safety protocols are taken against Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease. Between each rabbit brushes and clippers are sanitized. Protocol was set up by our veterinary staff. Rest assured your bunny is in the best of hands.

Important news for our local community! You will hear us talk about it. Stay informed. ❤️🐰

As of now, there have been confirmed Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus Type-2 (RHDV2) cases in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Wyoming, as well as in Canada and Mexico, affecting both wild and domestic rabbits. Officials report a death rate of about 90%, which is why strict precautions must be taken by rabbit guardians, including vaccination.

Even indoor-only rabbits are at risk, since the virus can be transferred to them by people (on their shoes and clothes), other animals (including dogs and cats, especially if they go outside), and even insects.

Currently, there is not a vaccine widely available to veterinarians in the United States or Canada for RHDV2. Vaccinations are generally available in countries where the disease is endemic (the disease is regularly found there). State Veterinarians and the USDA are requiring a documented case of RHDV in their state before approving special import permits for the vaccine, which are brought in from Europe. Please be patient with your local veterinarian regarding vaccine availability, because they have to follow strict USDA and state guidelines without exception.
