There is no such thing as ‘good news’ when reporting even a single officer being killed in the line-of-duty, yet we are encouraged to see fewer overall officer deaths across our state and nation. This data allows us to highlight the continuing dangers faced by our law enforcement professionals. To all our brothers and sisters maintaining the Blue Line, please be careful out there and stay safe.
January 9th each year the nation comes together to show gratitude for our “heroes in blue,” including active, retired, and officers we have lost in the line of duty.
At Peace Officer Memorial Group we appreciate officers every day. We honor the fallen, tell the story of Stanislaus County law enforcement, and support the survivors that are left behind. Here are some ways that each of us can go the extra mile for those who protect and serve our communities:
• Thank officers that you see throughout the day
• Wear something blue today
• Bring coffee or treats to your local department
• Send a personal message to an officer in your life to say thank you
• Share a positive experience you have had with law enforcement on social media
• Give to an organization that serves law enforcement officers
• Ask children to draw a picture for an officer in their life or for your local department
To all the officers in our community and across the nation, we at Peace Officer Memorial Group are grateful for your service and sacrifice.
In remembrance of Sgt Howard Stevenson. End of Watch Sunday, January 9, 2005
