The Morehead City Noon Rotary
Meets every Tuesday for lunch, Noon at the Sanitary Restaurant, 501 Evans St

For all of January our meetings will be held at the Salvation Army, 2800 Bridges Street.
We meet at 12:00 noon and lunch will be provided. Donations requested to offset costs.

Seth and Kim Ward were very excited to receive the golf cart they won in our fundraiser.
Our speaker today was Dr. Mary Katherine Lawrence of the Broad Street Clinic. They treat many people in the community with no medical or dental insurance. Our club also presented them with a check for $4,200 to support their clinics.
Our club donated $200 to the Morehead City Fireman’s Auxiliary, Montez Wade accepted on behalf of auxiliary. They do many good deeds around the Morehead City area.

Whew!!! Today was a busy day at our meeting!
First we had our Bill Condie award for Morehead City Policeman/woman of the year presented to Nicholas Stallings. The award was presented by our club and the Morehead City Police Chief, Bryan Dixon.
Then we had our drawing for the golf cart fundraiser. It was won by Seth Ward of Cary, NC. Seth was very surprised when we called him right from the meeting. Seth purchased his ticket at the Seafood Festival. We hope to have a photo op with Seth when we meet him with the golf cart.

My previous Rotary Club. This is what a smaller club of 25-30 can do with a big vision. Come see us this Tuesday, 12/12 for our Golf Cart drawing at the Sanitary Fish Market.

John Sortikys, the organizer of the Veterans Day parade, presents a plaque to President Tom for our sponsorship. It was the largest VD parade in North Carolina. Our own Dan was the grand marshall.

Congressman Greg Murphy was our guest speaker today at our meeting. He did a great job discussing many challenges facing the United States right now. As a physician he has traveled the world to some of the poorest countries. He said even with our challenges we are still the best country in the world!
We meet on Tuesdays at Sanitary Fish Market. Come see what we are about!

UPDATE: Need to give a shout out to Lidl Foods who helped us with all of the food! They went above and beyond to make this easy for us. Check them out.
Turkeys delivered, dinner ready for distribution, completion of another great Rotary project!!
Our Club rocks!!! This team packed 90 Thanksgiving dinners for families in need. Just one of the many ways we contribute in our community!!! Turkey, pie and rolls will be added tomorrow!! Come see what we are all about! Tuesday’s at noon at Sanitary Fish Market.
