Peru's Brockway fire truck will remain conspicuously parked at the Hamilton Funeral Home for the coming days as a representation of a life lived full of community service and dedication to the safety, care, and comfort of others. Gregory Robert Timmons was the epitome of both putting others before himself and leading by example. He was a loved and respected man who will be deeply missed.

Words cannot express how saddened we are by the news of Car-5 Greg Timmons’ passing. Greg has been a true leader for the county, a mentor for our department and a great teacher to anyone who would listen.

We will forever miss your calming voice on the radio when you were on scene. Greg was never afraid for sharing his vast experience and knowledge of the fire service especially when it was needed most. We are all better fire-fighters, leaders and in general better people thanks to you.

Our condolences go out to Greg’s family and friends, The Peru Fire Department and to the Clinton County Office of Emergency Services.

Rest in Peace Car-5 and thank you for everything you have done for all of us. Your memory will never be forgotten.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Over the last 2 weeks we had the honor of hosting the 5 Town of Plattsburgh and Town of Schuyler Falls fire departments annual bail out training. This training is a yearly requirement and part of NYS Best Practices.

Departments present for training were Morrisonville Fire, District #3 Fire, South Plattsburgh Fire and Cumberland Head Fire. Thank you to Morrisonville EMS for providing medical coverage during the training!

New Rescue 266 on its way to Vander Molen Sales and Service for tool mounting!

At work detail Monday Night we proudly took initial delivery of our New Rescue 266. 266 is an 18 foot walk around rescue from Fort Garry Trucks. This unit was purchased through our dealer Vander Molan.

Our truck committee began working with the commissioners on the design of this rescue back in 2021 and ordering took place in spring of 2022. We look forward to continuing our mission of being a more progressive department by providing greater services to our amazing district.

This truck will be replacing our 2005 Medium Duty Horton Rescue. We are hoping to place 266 in service early March this year.

Thank you to our tax payers, our commisioners, our truck committee and to all our memebers who provided input throughout the design process.

Thank you to Vander Molan Fire Apparatus and our salesman Scott Leavery for all your help during the design phase as well as with delivery. We couldn’t have asked for a smoother process up to this point!

Morrisonville Fire Department would like to congratulate Assistant Chief Mike Recore for receiving our Fire Fighter of the Year award last weekend at our yearly banquet!

Mike has been a long time member of our department as well as in Dannemora where he served all the way up to Fire Chief. Today Mike is one of our great State Fire Instructors in Clinton County.

Thank you Mike for your continued dedication to our department and our county. Your knowledge and leadership is greatly appreciated!
