Partner Damien Weinstein was recently interviewed by HR Daily Advisor on best practices when handling an employee termination or resignation. The article discusses the benefits and drawbacks for both employer and employee when an employee resigns instead of being terminated, highlighting how this approach can preserve the employee’s dignity and job prospects (at the cost of a possible severance or unemployment benefits) while reducing legal risks for the employer.

🚨 CLIENT ALERT: New Corporate Reporting Requirements for US Businesses 🚨

As of January 1, 2024, the Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”) mandates a significant shift in reporting obligations for nearly all US businesses. Here’s what you need to know:

🔍 Who is Affected?
Almost all US businesses are included, with a few exceptions such as accounting firms, inactive entities, tax-exempt entities, and insurance companies.

⏰ Deadlines:
- Existing businesses: One year from January 1, 2024, to file.
- New businesses formed in 2024: Ninety days from incorporation.
