Did you know that the Number 1 thing you can do to encourage living and saving faith in your child is to read the Bible with them and to teach them how to read it independently when they are older? You may ask, “What Bible do I use with my child?” Here are some great ones:
The Beginners Bible (Zonderkids) (Toddler and PreK)
The Jesus’ StoryBook Bible (Lloyd-Jones)(PreK -1st)
The Beginners Gospel Story Bible (Kennedy) (Prek – 1st)
The Biggest Bible Story Storybook (DeYoung) (1st – 6th)
The Action Bible for Kids/Teens – Lifeway (2nd-6th)
The Explorer’s Bible (CSB Bibles) (2nd-6th)
The English Standard Version of the Bible (7th and above)
Our smartphones are an amazing tool, but with too much use they can become burdens. Our phones are taking a toll on our brains, disconnecting us from a life well-lived, and stealing our peace.

Lydia was one of the first converts to Christianity. In Acts 16:14-15, she is described as a worshiper of God and a businesswoman with a family. The Lord opened her heart, and she and her entire household were baptized. She then opened her house to Paul and his companions, offering hospitality to the missionaries.
Acts 16:14-15 - “A certain woman named Lydia, a worshiper of God, was listening to us; she was from the city of Thyatira and a dealer in purple cloth. The Lord opened her heart to listen eagerly to what was said by Paul. When she and her household were baptized, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come and stay at my home.” And she prevailed upon us.”
Q: I am abnormal in a normal world?
A: This is what the Bible says…. Disability is a normal part of an abnormal world. Our world is broken due to our rejection of God in the garden. This world we live in not God’s original design. Your special need or disability is normal in these circumstances. “Disability is essentially a more noticeable form of the brokenness that is common to the human experience- a normal part of life in an abnormal world.” says Stephanie O. Hubach, author of “Same Lake, Different Boat”.
YES IT DOES!
> Don’t simply send your child to bed. Go into their bedroom and talk and pray with them before bed. Keep doing this for as long (and old) as they will let you!
WHY? Kids always want to talk at night. Even when they are teenagers. Don’t pass up the opportunity (even when you are tired!) Parenting at bedtime:
1. Allays fears – use a verse such as Psalm 56:3 to speak into nighttime fears
2. Encourages gratefulness - list the things in your day that you can be thankful for
3. Promotes the concept of looking for God in your day – ask How did we see God at work today in our family?
4. Opens the door for quiet space to talk about meaningful life issues
“Money really does reveal what rules your heart because money has the unique ability to fund what’s important to you. If I would look over a year at the way that you spend money, what would I conclude is really important to you in life?"
---
“Money. The thought of it can be overwhelming, and the pursuit of it can be addicting.
Our society constantly promises us that money will provide what we want—success, comfort, peace, and happiness—leading our fickle hearts to trust money for things it was never intended to give us. Even if we think we know what the Bible says about money, there seems to be a gap between our theology and our everyday money struggles.”
Pause. Look at your surroundings for 30 seconds. Where are you? What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell? What can you feel?
This, my friend, is a practice in attunement.
We can’t intuitively do anything unless we become attuned to what is going on inside of us. Intuitive Eating requires you to have attunement.
We have to practice to become Intuitive Eaters.

What patience and wisdom this woman displayed! God shows us through Esther’s story the value of self-restraint. Her obedience paid off. When the time came to tell the king about the plan against her people, he was more than receptive. Esther saved the day by rescuing her people from genocide.
Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Q: Can I be saved through Jesus Christ, even when I may not think or act the way others do?
A: The Bible uses the word “All” and this means “all”. All sin and fall short of the glory of God. All can find hope through salvation in Christ. Christ died to bring salvation to all who believe in him. All are vessels for the Holy Spirit to dwell when saved and therefore have spiritual gifts to be used by God for His glory. Read Romans 3:23-24 and John 3:16
One of the best ways to teach big bible concepts is to keep them rooted in God's word through verse memorization:
1. Create actions to go along with each word or phrase you want them to understand
2. Practice a few times a day – during meals, in the car, before bed
3. Post the verse in a visible place – bathroom mirror, on the fridge
4. Sing the verse to the tune of a familiar song
5. Have children look up the verse in the Bible and read it independently

Priscilla, also known as Prisca, was a Jewish woman from Rome who converted to Christianity. She and her husband are always shown as equals in Christ, and the two of them together are remembered as leaders of the early church.
Romans 16:3-4 - "Greet Prisca and Aquila, who work with me in Christ Jesus, and who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles." Pricilla and Aquila were tentmakers like Paul (Acts 18:3).
Q: Can I be fully involved in church, not just a recipient of care/charity?
A: This is what the Bible says…Our church body is not complete without those with disabilities. All members are indispensable and have value to contribute to the body as a whole. In fact, the Bible states that …some parts of the church body “that seem to be weaker are indispensable.” God has given you an important part to play at Fellowship Community Church for His kingdom. Read 1 Corinthians 12:22-23 and Romans 12:4-5
1. Don’t shy away from talking about your child’s fears
2. Don’t promise complete safety – you can’t give that
3. DO promise Jesus knows the future and has plans not to harm you, but to lead you – Jeremiah 29:11
(2 Resources: Safeguards and ChildProof by Julie Lowe)
4. Find outside help when necessary. Christian counseling professionals can give practical assistance.
“A disciple does not ask, "How much can I keep?" but, "How much more can I give?" Whenever we start to get comfortable with our level of giving, it's time to raise it again.”
“Christians are God's delivery people, through whom he does his giving to a needy world. We are conduits of God's grace to others. Our eternal investment portfolio should be full of the most strategic kingdom-building projects to which we can disburse God's funds.”
“Abundance isn't God's provision for me to live in luxury. It's his provision for me to help others live. God entrusts me with his money not to build my kingdom on earth, but to build his kingdom in heaven.”
“God comes right out and tells us why he gives us more money than we need. It's not so we can find more ways to spend it. It's not so we can indulge ourselves and spoil our children. It's not so we can insulate ourselves from needing God's provision. It's so we can give and give generously (2 Corinthians 8:14; 9:11)”
“..tithing isn't something I do to clear my conscience so I can do whatever I want with the 90 percent--it also belongs to God! I must seek his direction and permission for whatever I do with the full amount. I may discover that God has different ideas than I do.”
5 Do’s and Don'ts of FASTING:
Do: ● Get your head up and get a bigger perspective (make it about Love) ● Remember you’re a whole person ● Know your why ● Humble yourself (expect to learn- read the Word; ask the Lord: “show me, me”) ● Know when pride has taken the wheel
Don’t: ● Do it just for weight loss ● Think that you can manipulate God ● Expect this to be a lifestyle ● Fall into bo***ge ● Forget your joy- being certain that God is doing something!

Jehosheba risked her life to save prince Joash and his nurse. If caught she would have been killed for her good deed. Jehosheba shows us that bravery is not limited to one s*x. Who would have thought a seemingly ordinary woman would save the royal line of David from extinction through an act of love.
2 Kings 11:2-3 - "But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram and sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the royal princes, who were about to be murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah; so he was not killed. He remained hidden with his nurse at the temple of the LORD for six years while Athaliah ruled the land."
Q: Is the way I am made a mistake? Are my circumstances a mistake?
A: This is what the Bible says ...Disability is not a mistake; we are all created wonderfully, on purpose for His purpose. God is sovereign, and therefore responsible for good and things we view as calamity. He uses us to glorify himself in these circumstances. Read Psalm 139:13-16, Exodus 4:10-12, and John 9:1-3
