Art expression has been recognized as a calming process for the body and mind. Classes provide an outlet for thoughts and feelings that can be difficult to put into words. All supplies will be provided for several art mediums. This fun, relaxing and comforting program is open to cancer patients and their caregivers. Sessions are held quarterly at St. Catherine Hospital. To register, call 219-836-3349.

Sessions take place the third Wednesday of the month from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center, 10215 Broadway, Crown Point.

Whether you are newly diagnosed, undergoing treatment, a survivor or a family member, everyone is welcome to attend our networking group. Oncology nurse navigators facilitate the sessions. Active participation is not required.

Great turnout yesterday for the last part of our Physician Lecture Series in 2023. Oncologist Michael Tallarico, MD, presented on environmental and lifestyle factors as they relate to cancer. Keep an eye out for upcoming presentations, programs and informational sessions at the Cancer Resource Centre.
Many thanks to the Munster Fire Department for raising more than $8,700 for the Cancer Resource Centre! The department sold breast cancer awareness shirts and accepted donations to benefit the CRC.
Thank you to all who attended our Lights of Life tree-lighting ceremony at Community Hospital. Each light on these trees will shine throughout the holiday season in honor or memory of the special people in our hearts. This annual fundraiser supports programs and clinical trials offered through the Community Cancer Research Foundation.
Thank you to the eighth grade boys basketball team at St. Thomas More School in Munster. Team members decorated our Christmas tree at the Cancer Resource Centre as a community service project.

The Cancer Resource Centre wants to share a big thank you to Nothing Bundt Cakes. The fundraiser on 11/17/2023 was a success. Our staff within the Community Healthcare System came out and supported our event. We are looking forward to 2024 fundraiser before Valentine’s Day on 2/13/2024.
