Hope you are enjoying the heart (and heat 😎) of summer!

I am trying to line up a LARGE ramp build for the weekend of Aug 2-3 (Fri-Sat) if I have sufficient volunteers. I'd prefer 6 for Friday prefab and 6-8 for Saturday. (Of course, we're at the mercy of the weather too).

42' of decline with multiple turns (platforms) due to the limited space. I believe this gentleman will use this ramp for years to come.

I welcome both experienced and new volunteers, and it doesn't have to be all day, though it helps me to know approximately how much time you can stay. We use deck screws, not nails, so virtually anyone with reasonable mobility can assemble a ramp. Easy to learn!

Please let me know by text, comment, or Messenger if you can help either day, or if you have questions. If you'd like to just "try us out" for a couple hours, that's okay too. I'll keep a list for more upcoming detailed communication.

Mr W was off to a community event this morning as we finished our sanding and cleanup. He can safely get in and out to maintain his independence. 😊

Yay, finally a Lake County ramp build! Apologies to the team and clients, but life got in the way this year for me. Now we're ready to go 💥

Tomorrow FRIDAY is a small build for us, and our first opportunity to repurpose a previous ramp. A previous ramp recipient let her executor know to donate her ramp back at her passing, and I know she'd be happy to have it reused within her own town for a lovely gentleman in much the same situation.

While we have enough carpenters for this modest build, I would like to invite anyone who hasn't seen a ramp build and it is curious to come on out and see what we're about. The location is in north Highland off Indianapolis Boulevard starting at 9am until around noon or 1. If you wish to come, just message me for the address.

Today SAWs celebrates a huge milestone - our 4000th ramp is being installed today. Each and every one represents a personal story and a life changed.

Springtime? Almost? SAWs Lake County is getting organized to start ramp building once we get an appropriate break in the weather. We have ramp requests galore, and a few with the necessary approvals. Stay tuned for more announcements!
