Today, we had the honor of distributing the generous food donation from our friends at to our families. We pray that God will abundantly meet all of their needs and bring blessings to their future endeavors. 🙏🏾

We have seen God work in amazing ways this year so far, providing everything we need. Through your generosity and the generosity of local teachers, we were able to help start a high school on February 21st! Three wonderful teachers are standing in the gap for their students and have decided to work long days with a very modest salary. They are doing this because they believe in the power of education. There are 18 students starting 10th grade this year. Most of these students are girls; they are returning to high school because they know it will provide them with more opportunities in the future. Four of these students are young mothers, with a determination to be a role model for their young children. You are a huge part of these girls’ stories, even though it might not seem like it. Your donations can quite possibly change the trajectory of these young women from poverty and domestic violence to stability and freedom.

As you consider the reason for this season, pray for families in Honduras and all over the world who are in need of discipleship. Discipleship is at the heart of caring for our families, because it makes them more resilient to hardships.

Tonight, we celebrate family and Christmas at our first ever Night of Hope! We are so excited to share what the Lord has done in Honduras through Rooted over the last three years and tell you whats next! In Honduras, the costs of school are a barrier to entry for many families living on $5.50 a day. Rooted steps in to improve education access for numerous kids each year. We’ve helped over 200 students and don’t plan to stop! Next year, 2024, we are partnering with the local school to extend high school to 10th and 11th grades to open up opportunities in skilled jobs and college.

Don’t tell and but Vinda is one of our “ROCKSTAR” entrepreneurs. In 2020, she lost nearly everything to hurricanes and COVID. Her husband was working as a day laborer, but barely was getting by. She wanted to cut hair, but could not afford beauty school. So, with a little investment, Rooted helped her learn how to cut hair at the local beauty school. While she was in school, she walked the road of villages everyday selling beauty supplies so she could build her own store and salon. Within a few months she had enough to build her store! Now she sells beauty supplies and snacks and cuts hair in the store! Her income provides for her kid’s needs and they can live safely in their own family.
Vinda says her one dream now, is to have a real salon chair. She and her children are so grateful for the wonderful gifts and investment in her life from her friends at Rooted International.

In the last 3 years your gifts have helped 62 children stay in 27 families, increased school enrollment by 45%, and served over 1500 people through community projects at the medical clinic, school, and various infrastructure projects.

These sisters are amazing! After receiving seed capital from Rooted International, Marta and Betty started a small bakery to support their children. Their children had to drop out of school due to financial instability. Because of Rooted’s support, their children have returned to school and the sisters run a successful bakery 🍞 🥖

This Monday, we had the opportunity to co-host the first local health fair. Students and families from 4 schools came together to learn about disease prevention and receive vaccinations. We love being a part of this community!

As any farmer knows, there's no feeling like the satisfaction that comes from reaping the rewards of a completed harvest. At Rooted International, our hope is to re-kindle that feeling of satisfaction after a hard season of work. We are wrapping up our whirlwind week of travel in Honduras. We learned a lot about this country’s customs, needs, and community dynamics. We are looking forward to seeing many families succeed in our programs and run sustainable businesses, get help in school, and become deeply rooted in both Christ and their Communities.
