Recovery Updates on Baily

Like I said lots of ice cream!

Another weekend full of blessings for our boy! Baily spent the weekend at his home away from home with family and friends! PirateLand has been his 2nd home....so glad he got to go back for a visit!!! Lots of co****le and homemade ice cream for his comeback party!!
We appreciate the continued prayers! He is a fighter....a true Airman! And we couldnt be more proud!

Just wanted to hop on and let everyone know Baily ia doing so good! He even made a surprise visit to NC this weekend to celebrate his sister Addy and cousin Cobrans bdays! Nothing could have made them smile more! God is so good and prayers work!
We appreciate the continued prayers! He has so many hurdles to face but he is pushing thru recovery and making us all so proud!!

Just a quick update on Baily....he is continuing to make great strides in his recovery! Lots of therapy, and follow ups happening and all are positive! We ask that you continue to pray for his progress!

We are screaming Happy Saturday!!
Our boy has busted out of the hospital!! Yes you heard me right! Less than 4 weeks post surgery. He is killing it!! He is continuing therapy and antibiotics but no longer confined to the hospital.
Oh how good is our God!
I actually text with him this morning and he said to let you guys know he appreciates all your prayers, thoughts and concerns!
For now he is staying in Charleston so that he can continue with the therapy and meds.
We ask that you continue praying for his recovery journey. He still has a ways to go but he is on his way to a full recovery. God has him!!

It's Wonderful Wednesday! Baily is doing good! Everyday we are seeing improvements and that is such a blessing.
If you know Baily of course you know he is in the United States Air Force! I don't remember exactly when he decided this was his dream but I know he went after it and made it happen!! Determination is in his blood!! He was a also a member of the ROTC thru-out high school. And was a member of the color guard. He has always been super handsome in a uniform!!
We are awfully proud of his commitment to our country!
Last week when his aunt (Kallie) and cousin (Kenslie) were visiting they helped him pack up the US flag he was given by his Sargeant. Luckily his Nana snapped a few pictures and I wanted to share these!

Sorry guys I know it's been a day or two but things have been busy! Baily has settled in at the rehab hospital in North Charleston. He is putting in the hours between physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. He is making improvements across the board. Some things are easier than others but progress is what we want and he is making that happen! Today he even played co****le and WON! Yeah that's right....look out guys he hasn't lost his game!! I know a couple people that can't wait to play a game with him! I couldn't be more excited to give this update.
We know it isn't easy and day to day the struggles he faces are real, but he is working so hard and we are so proud!!

Keep praying for progress!

I wanted to take a minute to let you guys know a little more about our Baily!! He is doing great! Last night he was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in Charleston. We are not sure yet how long he will be here but we know its imperative for his recovery.
Its been almost 3 weeks since this roller coaster ride started. For sure the scariest thing our family has ever been thru! Baily has been thru it for sure! Today we are bragging on God and want to share what he has done for our Baily! 2.5 weeks after brain surgery he is showing us that he is determined and I have no doubt he will make a full recovery!
Baily has taken some steps on his own! He is talking some and even answered text messages! This guy is killing it!
Gosh it's overwhelming honestly to think of where he was, where he went, where he has come (already) and where he has to go! But if this week has proven anything it proves he is a fighter....a true Airman that is gonna be back to 100% sooner than we can imagine! I'm in awe of him really and I know that it is truly God working thru him and i/we are so grateful!

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers concern and support! It means so much!

Overall another really good day for Baily. He is continuing to make great strides in his journey!

This guy is a miracle!!
He is going to have one heck of a story to tell! He is continuing to make amazing and we are all so proud!
He has walked down the hall way and did this on his own with little or no help from PT!!

God is good all the time and all the time God is good!

I know when the time comes he will read all these posts and be humbled by the prayers, love and support that has come from so many people...many he has never known and probably never will. It's truly been an experience like no other.

Wow! That is honestly all that I can day about today.....oh and no more baby steps...

This boy is crushing it....so proud of him. Today he was able to get out of the bed!!! It was so great to see him sitting in his chair and eating grilled cheese and french fries!!

God is so good!

Baily has had a pretty good day. We got to spend a little time with him this morning but otherwise he has really tried to rest. Daily we are faced with hurdles and we know that this is a long road. We love this boy and can't say enough how proud we are!! Thank you all for the prayers.

This smile shows exactly what we are feeling today! It's been a big day for our boy! Lots of victories today. We are thanking God tonight for a day filled with hope and blessings! We know each day comes with its own set of challenges and rewards! But this boy is proving he is up for it!!! Gods got him!

Well God heard us loud and clear! Today we got a Leap!!! Baily is off the vent and breathing on his own. He is resting and he looks great! God is Good all the time and all the time God is Good! Keep those prayers coming!!

Also pray for a family we have met here in the Neuroscience ICU. Dr. Penn is a patient and his family is precious!

This boy amazes me! Yesterday was overall such a good day. We got to spend quite a bit of time with him and he is fighting so hard! Little victories all day long! He is moving around, and communicating the best he can. Our Airman is our hero and we know God has big plans for him. This is a roller coaster for sure and I ask for you to keep praying for Baily but also lift up prayers for his/our family! This is unlike anything we have ever been through. We need strength too! Prayers for a great weekend with a whole lot more little victories!

Man are we learning to be thankful for the little things!!! It may not seem like much but Baily has proven that he is fighting hard and I have no doubt he is going to make a full recovery! We are anxious...but this is all new to us (his family) and we are learning it is a process! Doctor says he is doing good!! That is all we need to hear! Praying for more baby steps and maybe even a baby jump really soon. Thank you for all the support we appreciate it and it means so much to us!!!

I didn't get to update yesterday, my apologies. There were no significant changes which is really a good thing!
Late yesterday he did give the doctor a thumbs up!! Praise God! Its a slow hard road but this guy has God and his support team on his side! He is still doing a lot of resting! But that is what he needs!!!
Today marks 10 days since Baily went to the hospital and 1 week since surgery. We know that we are headed in the right direction. This is hard on our family, please know that we are trying to keep everyone updated as often as we can.

Today has been a good day. Baily is still resting just like the doctors ordered! But he was a little more active today. Moving around some and even following some commands! We are praising the lord for these baby steps! We know that God has big plans for our boy!!! Keep on praying!!! We sure feel them!!!

This is an update from yesterday!!

Today has been a good day! Baily was transferred to MUSC today by ambulance. He arrived safely and has settled in very well. This hospital is better equipped to monitor his brain activity. We are thankful for this technology and know that this is going to aid in his recovery. Again we are thanking God for blessing him with such a fantastic medical team.
He is still resting and healing and we are anxious to see his beautiful smile! Please continue the prayers....especially for our patience! Thank you all!

This past Sunday Baily became unresponsive and was rushed to the emergency room. They performed tests & scans and identified an infection on the brain.

On Tuesday they performed surgery and were able to get most of the infection and he was placed on a breathing machine.

Baily continues to have seizures but that is expected for now. His white blood cell count is coming down and swelling is under control.

Please continue to pray for Baily, the family and the staff that is taking care of him.
