Today is ! To celebrate, we'd like to pay special homage to an incredible woman and vital figure in LightHouse history, Rose Resnick!

Rose Resnick was a blind woman who dedicated her life to being an influential educator, advocate, and activist for the blind community. In 1950, Rose founded our beloved Enchanted Hills Camp and helped turn the beautiful Napa property into the safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment for blind and low vision people to learn, grow and explore that EHC is today.

In her autobiography, "Dare to Dream: The Rose Resnick Story," Rose writes: "Attitudes, rather than the lack of sight, are the real agony of blindness. As with all minorities, the deepest desire of those who cannot see is for equal opportunity and to be treated as human beings."

Today, and every day, we honor the invaluable work of amazing women like Rose Resnick. Happy International Women's Day! 🧡
