Blue sapphires have been associated with wisdom, royalty, and protection throughout history. They are often seen as symbols of truth, sincerity, and faithfulness.
Rubies have been featured prominently in literature and film. In "The Wizard of Oz," Dorothy's ruby slippers are iconic symbols of magic and power.
Rubies have long been associated with love, passion, and energy. They are often given as gifts to symbolize deep love and commitment.
In ancient mythology, emeralds were often associated with the goddess Venus and were believed to bring good fortune and youthfulness to the wearer. They were also thought to have the power to reveal the truth and protect against evil spells.
Labradorite can display an iridescent optical effect known as labradorescence. #
Labradorite usually forms from molten magma deep within the Earth. It takes millions of years to crystalize and form the layers that create flashes of color.
Native American Innu called Labradorite " Fire Stone " because the flashes of color resembled the Northern Lights. They believed it was a healing stone with spiritual properties.
The use of uranium glass dates back to at least 79 AD, the date of a mosaic containing yellow glass with 1% uranium oxide, which was found in a Roman villa on Cape Posillipo in the Bay of Naples, Italy, in 1912.
Vaseline glass containers are clear, yellow or yellowish-green glass pieces made with 0.1% to 25% uranium dioxide. Many different kinds of glass can have a yellowish-green hue, but the thing that sets Vaseline glass apart from the rest is the fact that it glows green when it is exposed to UV light.
Conceived as precious containers for ground to***co imported into China, s***f bottles were initially made for the emperor and the court, and eventually produced in much greater quantities for a public who enjoyed their functionality as well as their display as symbols of status. ***fbottle
Amber is not a mineral but an organic product. It is fossilized resin of ancient trees living 25 to 50 millions years ago, but some pieces have been found which can be as old as 130 millions years.
"Each day is a gem, different in size & color and yours to polish!"
The word Garnet comes from an old word meaning “pomegranate.”
Garnets often resemble the color of Mediterranean pomegranate seeds, so it’s only natural that the stone’s name is derived from the Latin word ‘garanatus,’ which means seed-like. Garnets have long been a standing symbol of love and friendship.
Fun Fact: Emerald is one of the four recognized precious gemstones. The others are ruby, sapphire, and diamond.
Diamonds were formed long before dinosaurs roamed the Earth, and some are even older than the stars.
Emerald is the only gemstone that has a cut named after it. The famous emerald-cut was initially reserved only for the precious green gem. On the Mohs scale, the emerald’s hardness is between 7.5 to 8. Since it is not as hard as other precious gemstones, the emerald-cut was created to protect the jewel’s corners and prevents fractures. The straight linear facets in this cut also create a ‘Hall of Mirrors’ effect that enhances the color and beauty of emeralds.

Fun Fact: In some cases, opal forms in the remains of plants and animals, creating opalized fossils. These fossils can preserve intricate details with opal replacing the original organic material.
Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz. The name comes from the Koine Greek αμέθυστος amethystos from α- a-, "not" and μεθύσκω (Ancient Greek) methysko / μεθώ metho (Modern Greek), "intoxicate", a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness. Ancient Greeks wore amethyst and carved drinking vessels from it.
Peridot has a rich historical legacy. It was highly prized by ancient civilizations, including the Egyptians, who called it the “gem of the sun.” Cleopatra is believed to have adorned herself with peridot gemstones.
