Naperville Pediatrics Pre-Med Gap Year Internship Program

We provide a one year (10 months minimum) clinical environment for 2-3 pre-med students that offers the opportunity to become a part of a healthcare team and at the same time earn some money at $15/hour.

To be eligible, the student must:
1- Have completed a bachelor’s degree within the last 1-2 years.
2- Demonstrate interest in applying to a medical school (MD or DO).
3- Commit to participating 35-40 hours per week over a 5 day period for 10 or more months.

Students will be trained over a 2-to-3-week period and mentored by our experienced staff. They will be expected to perform all the routine procedures of a medical practice: patient intake, patient discharge, taking vital signs, administering tests, administering vaccines, etc and assist our trained physicians. Students will have completed over 1400 hours of clinical experience within the year. During the internship, Dr Rubin of www.MiniMedicalSchool.com will assist each student with their application process, including essay review, school selection and mock interviews.

In celebration of Dr Lawande's 25 year award, Dr Rubin's 35 year award and the office now 50+ years caring for infants, children and young adults, we have updated our name. Naperville Pediatric Associates is now doing business as Naperville Pediatrics. A shorter name but still the same staff and caring doctors.

Edward Hospital awarded last Saturday Dr Lawande for 25 years of service and Dr Rubin for 35 years. Between the two, our office has 60 years of experience. Congrats!

DPH Director Dr. Sameer Vohra yesterday joined Governor Pritzker and other elected officials and healthcare leaders at an event to mark the end of the PHE at which the Governor issued a proclamation declaring May 11 as "Illinois Public Health and Health Care Hero Day."

IDPH has recorded a total of 4,139,537 cases and 36,870 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois since the beginning of the pandemic. The department is reporting 3,729 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Illinois in the week ending May 7, and 20 deaths. The preliminary seven-day statewide case rate is 29 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 Illinoisans.
