Tomorrow is the first day of school for Naperville and many surrounding areas and my first born is starting kindergarten (Hi, Brigid taking over social media for the moment!). What a mix of all the thoughts and emotions! And by mix, I mean massive hurricane-- will the kids be kind, will the teachers provide meaningful support, how fast will he adjust, will he be safe, will he eat his lunch, and also, he will have so much fun, structure is great, they'll learn so much! Super exciting: we celebrated our first graduation from our school readiness program!🥳 These learners have been working so hard and made tons of progress! They've practiced going through a structured day, working on tasks independently, transitioning between activities, following social rules and sharing space with others, building friendships, and lots more. We've loved supporting each learner's growth and watching them bloom into the people they want to be. We're excited to see them take their new skills to the classroom!💜

Over the weekend, we had our 3rd annual Precision ABA Picnic!💜 It was great hanging out with everyone outside of work. Many staff members brought family and friends. And some staff showed off their hobbies by engaging us in a yoga session or shared their talents by making homemade treats! We're grateful for everyone who joined us, and can't wait for the next one!😊

Today, we're celebrating Kelsey's 7 year anniversary at Precision ABA!🥳 As one of the staff members who has been with us the longest, Kelsey has held many positions and titles throughout her time here. Her hard work and dedication help her excel with every task she takes on. Her kindness, relatability, and affable personality make her a great coworker. Expressive language is a continuum in child development that begins at infancy.

This aspect of language involves how we communicate our thoughts, feelings, and desires with others. Expressive language is essential for learning, playing, participating in activities, and engaging with the world around us. As we develop new ways to communicate, such as using visuals, gestures, and spoken words, we can meet our needs more effectively.

Related to expressive language is receptive language. Together, these types of language influence auditory processing and attention and play a crucial role in overall language and social skills.

What a fun activity one of our behavior technicians found for our clients! Lots of our younger learners LOVE learning about dinosaurs, and today they were able to make their own dinosaur fossils. The kids enjoyed playing with the dough and using toy figurines to stomp through it.

This was a fun activity working on following directions, fine motor skills, and creativity. This is really easy for all abilities. We included the directions if you'd like to try it out!😊

We are excited to shine a spotlight on one of our team members, Emma, a Behavior Technician at Precision ABA. Emma comes to us as a recent graduate from Wheaton College where she majored in Music (Percussion Pedagogy). Although Emma has only been with us for a short time, her creativity, fun, and compassion have already made a big impact. Whether she’s drawing individualized board games for her learners, hosting bubble parties, or finding new and creative ways to transition, you can always count on her sessions to be engaging and unique. Emma says, “My favorite thing about working here is how I’m able to reconnect with my inner child and come up with creative activities that both the kids and I enjoy.”

Emma’s innovative ideas and genuine care for her clients have greatly enhanced their progress and our company. Thanks for all you do, Emma!
