Our Story

Welcome to MT's Local Kitchen & Wine Bar. Chef Michael Buckley and his wife Sarah first opened the doors on August 8, 1995 as Michael Timothy's Urban Bistro. Very quickly they became a success due to attention to detail and working hard to fine tune every part of the guest experience; from the food and wine to the atmosphere and service. The concept change to MT’s Local Kitchen & Wine Bar in May 2011 brought an increased focus on sourcing products from the abundant resources around us for daily specials. The concept change also brought a more open less formal atmosphere with the same caliber of food, wine and service that has made us a success over the past 22 years!

Owners Sarah and Michael have long been a part of local community, both calling New Hampshire home. Their passion for excellence has led them to create the Michael Timothy’s Dining Group, a collection of fine dining restaurants in the Southern New Hampshire area including MT’s – Local Kitchen & Wine Bar, Surf Seafood Restaurant, Buckley’s Great Steaks, and Buckley's Bakery & Cafe.

We have an uncompromising passion for the quality of our product and hospitality. Our cuisine is chef inspired comfort food with a creative twist to showcase the best of each product. Our menu is diverse offering salads, wood grilled pizzas, small plates and appetizers for lighter fare. Our wood grill imparts a unique flavor to our grilled meats and creative twists on wood grilled pizzas are sure to be remembered. We offer an extensive wine list of wine from around the world and our local region representing the best interpretation of each varietal. Our chefs take the time to prepare everything from scratch utilizing the freshest ingredients and sourcing product from our abundant local resources when we can. Our desserts and breads are prepared each day at our own bakery in Merrimack, NH. You will find a casual comfortable atmosphere in our dining room and wine bar to enjoy a meal with friends or celebrate a special occasion.
