The Bristol County Sheriff’s Office will be recruiting here at MassHire Greater New Bedford Career Center on Wednesday, January 3th from 9:30am to 1:00pm. They are looking to hire over 100 Correctional Officers ASAP.
Correction Officers are responsible for the safety and security of every visitor, employee, and inmate within our jail/house of correction. We are committed to serving the public and ensuring that the inmates are given the best chance for reentering society. Correction Officers patrol the facility, assist with investigations, search for contraband, and monitor inmate activity.
Officers must complete a 9 week paid training academy held at our main facility. After graduation officers will be assigned to a shift and then be periodically rotated to experience and learn on each shift.
First, Second & Third Shift
Sign on bonus of $5,000
Must pass CORI
$55,000 per year plus shift differential
