As we end the year, it's time for holiday sharing and giving. A good time to reflect on many things, many people, and the places that have been important to us. Ashé Cultural Arts Center is a place where people have gathered now for 25 years for baby showers, blessings, weddings, festivals, screenings, concerts, poetry, funerals, visual art, and various programs for children, women, men, and elders. Have you been in that number of tens of thousands who have made their way to Ashé Cac.

If you have, at this 25-year anniversary milestone, it would be great to make a holiday investment in Ashé. Can we make a 2500 more donors and members to cheer on and inspire this second generation of leadership and to assure that Ashé has a good foundation of support and continues for another 25 years. Home is where the heart is but love for Ashé extends around the world. Be a part of creating this love offering as a sign and symbol of your gratitude.

It's the end of the year and despite the challenges we face in finding peace and joy it is important for us to recognize and be thankful for the year we've had. And fix us on meetings the challenges of the year that face us. Our ability to make it through and to find moments of peace and joy are hooked to our being there for each other. May this story inspire you to close gaps between family and friends and to find empathy for those who challenge your life and your loved ones. In the end, we are all looking for the ability to be respected, to belong, to thrive and be loved.

Blessings and best wishes for the holidays. Enjoy! ❤️💚

Carol Bebelle is a voice of the community and a cultural advocate 03/14/2023

There's so many stories that don't get told. Everybody has a story and every woman's story is powerful. During this month take the time to get to know each other's stories so there's someone other than you who understands what your journey has been.

I'd like to thank VERITE for the gracious and generous decision to feature my story. I'm sharing it here but stop, look, and listen to the stories that are in your family, in your friend circle, in your church, seminar, work circles and be inspired by how women have lived their lives and have been such a powerful support and influence in the lives of others.

Carol Bebelle is a voice of the community and a cultural advocate Carol Bebelle lives right around the corner from the cultural hub she co-founded and nurtured: Ashé Cultural Arts Center on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard. In her home, hues of turquoise and orange fill the living room. The ambiance is warm, with portraits of her along with other women like Queen Re...

In Black History Month we celebrate very high profile individuals of the world, but black history happens everyday and we need to celebrate that and those people in your life among your family and friends.

Imagining America is coming to New Orleans with a theme that aligns with the true spirit of New Orleans. Please consider submitting a proposal for presentation at the conference.

See below:
In partnership with Tulane University, Ashé Cultural Arts Center, and a diverse Working Group, Imagining America (IA) invites participants to submit a proposal for the in-person IA National Gathering on October 14 - 16, 2022, in New Orleans.

This year's Gathering theme Rituals of Repair and Renewal invites participants to engage in joyful celebration of the magic in being together. Taking place in the city of New Orleans, where culture is daily born and reborn, the three-day immersive event will set the stage for participants to enact rituals of reflection, repair, renewal, wellness, and imagination. Culture makers and movement organizers alike know that ritual is central to creating community and building power for change. When ritual is collective it forges the sacred consciousness of "we" – the knowledge that we are all in it together. Embodied ritual, singing, dancing, laughing, marching, and making things together helps us grieve and heal, sustains our spirits, and inspires hope and joy. When ritual is intergenerational it joins the past and present to carry us into the future. Creative rituals help us imagine beyond both the mundane and serious challenges of our daily lives, building energy for shared struggle.

To review the call for participation for more information about Gathering themes and how to apply, use this link: https://bit.ly/iaCFP2022

The deadline to submit your proposal is Friday, June 10, 2022.
