The New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School is an open-admission public charter school that prepares all students for college admissions and successful careers. Sci High provides a rigorous high school curriculum with an emphasis in science and mathematics in a supportive environment of learning and respect that prepares students to make informed choices about post-secondary pursuits.
Cross country season has started! If you want to compete with the cross country team, see Coach Wheeler in Room 2109 to pick up the necessary paperwork. You must have your physical exam and permission slips completed and turned into Coach Wheeler before you can participate in practices.

Congratulations to Jaia Cager and Micah Owens for completing interviews and being accepted to the Summer Cancer Research Institute with Xavier University of Louisiana! These ladies will learn about laboratory safety, begin identifying research topics related to their chosen career pathways and are now apart of the next generation of Cancer Researchers.......exciting!

There are some photos of students with their completed picture frames, and a couple of others starting their final projects; they're making wheelchairs almost entirely out of wood. For the picture frames they milled their stock from pine 2x4s, cut mitres, glued and painted. For the wheelchairs their processing plywood for the wheelchair side supports.

Are you interested in trying out for the 2024-2025 Sci High Sapphires Cheer Squad? Tryouts will start on Monday, April 29th, promptly after dismissal in the dining commons. You must show up on April 29th and 30th for the cheer workshop. Try out day is on Thursday, May 2nd from 3:30 to 5:50 pm. Please see Ms. Mitchell in room 3018 this week to sign up.

This weekend the Sci High girls team defeated Cohen in the league semifinals to advance to the championship. They will play on Saturday, April 20 at 9 am at Samuel J Green.

Students who graduate from Sci High will be well-grounded in the study of life sciences, physical sciences and mathematics, and be able to show mastery of all academic core content areas in line with college readiness. Just as important, Sci High students will lead and act with integrity and honesty in all pursuits. They will be self-disciplined and self-directed, and will work together for the support and growth of each individual in the school and greater community.
