“So many great Bacchus memories!

Had my first legal drink at Bacchus (2006). I showed up just after midnight on my 21st birthday and the bartender said “I’m really sorry, I can’t serve you—this license expired 2 minutes ago.” He saw the look of disappointment on my face and then said, “Just kidding—happy birthday! It’s on me!”

Another great memory was seeing Drew Barrymore and her then-boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti (drummer of the Strokes) hanging out playing pool while I was having dinner with my parents at a nearby booth. This was back before the billiard section was added and there were just a couple of pool tables in the back. She spilled her drink all over the place and when staff rushed over to clean it for her, she grabbed all the rags and insisted on cleaning it up herself!

So many more memories! Ended up there during my bachelorette party, so many lunches with coworkers, meals on the outdoor patio.

I love Bacchus so much! Been coming for 20 years and haven’t been there recently but this post inspired me to come back sooner than later 😃”

The monies to open Bacchus were derived from working as a prison guard for a 3 year period. As you can see, long hair was part of the revolution at that time. While on duty, in the prison, the long hair was hidden under a short hair wig!

This is Bacchus just before our opening, late winter, in 1974!
