This patient was smiling ear to ear again after leaving our office! He was told elsewhere that his tooth could not be saved, but a friend sent him to me to take a look.
I took on the challenge, had the bad tooth treated and then did a temporary restoration. His work isn't done yet- but the temporary crown I did in the office restored his confidence. Stay tuned for more of his results.

Here are a few things to consider:

1. PPO vs HMO - PPO plans give you the freedom to see any dentist you wish. HMO plans are very restrictive and and are accepted by fewer dentists.

2. Annual maximum/limit - aggregate amount that insurance will pay towards procedures within a calendar year.

3. Out of Network coverage - most people think that if your dentist is “out of network”, you can’t see him/her, or have to pay additional fees, or different prices, or switch to a plan where he/she is “in-network”. That’s not entirely true! You have the freedom to see an in-network or out-of-network provider if you have a PPO plan. Even if your dentist is “out of network”, you’re covered!

4. Choose a higher tier plan if you have the option - you will pay more power month but less in the long-run!
