This is what Crowns and Implants restorations can look like!
Born without any posterior teeth, this patient received implants when she was twenty years old. Now twenty years later her implant and tooth restoration relationship has changed due to natural jaw bone changes that happen to us all over time. She presented to us with provisional/temporary bridges on her posterior implants and older crowns on her anterior teeth.
The treatment went as follows:
1. Digital mock up of her upper teeth.
2. Removal of all maxillary (upper) restorations and placed new provisional bridges on her implants and provisional crowns on her teeth. She then wears these for about six weeks to her function, aesthetics, and ability to maintain these restorations.
3. Final restorations were then made. Two zirconia screw retained bridges that utilized pink ceramic and six lithium disilicate crowns anteriorly.
A custom night-guard accompanied the final process to ensure oral health longevity and to maintain occlusion (alignment and contact between the upper and lower teeth) and this will also function as a retainer for her upper teeth.
Patients frequently say to us, “I do not want crowns or implants because they look fake.” As you can appreciate, crowns and implant restorations can look absolutely natural

After years of neglect this gentleman presented with a worn dentition (teeth) and many broken and missing posterior teeth.
We collaborated treatment with periodontist Dr. Sarmiento extracted hopeless teeth and placed posterior implants.
We then restored his worn teeth and implants to restore his function and aesthetics.
This patient came in with the concern that she has a “joker smile”. She wanted to show more teeth and to be happy with the way she smiles. Dr. Raimondi placed 13 veneers and 1 implant crown. As you can see on the pre op photos, all teeth look even and with the same length. A natural and youthful smile will have different proportions in size and length for different teeth, central incisors are usually longer than lateral incisors. Since the patient’s natural teeth enamel wear out due to bruxism, Dr. Raimondi fabricated a night guard to maintain the work.
Lets talk Dental Crowns
What is a dental crown and what are the benefits of a dental crown?
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that restores a decayed, broken or worn down tooth.
How long does a dental crown last?
The average lifespan of a crown is five to fifteen years with proper care.
Veneers or crowns? Which is the right option for me?
Crowns are considered to be of a restorative nature, the main goal is to restore the health of the tooth which can also enhance its appearance.
Veneers are considered to be of a cosmetic nature, covering aesthetic concerns, chips and discoloration.
Always a pleasure seeing !
This patient had a trauma when she was 8 and since then she had to have the composite filling changed a couple of times. As you can see, when she came to us, the composite was broken and with dark and yellow spots. She wanted a long term solution that would last and look natural.
Before planning the veneers, noticed a radiolucency (dark area) around the root of tooth #8, indicating this tooth needed to have the root canal retreated.
The treatment sequence went as follows:
1. Mock up and design review
2. Root canal therapy on tooth #8
3. Whitening
4. Preparation and temporaries insert
5. Insert of porcelain veneers

Addressing significant incisal edge erosion requires a thoughtful and conservative approach. In this case, our strategy began with a whitening procedure, followed by the meticulous planning of 10 veneers that respected and complemented the patient's natural tooth contours.
The treatment plan went as follows:
1. Digital mock up of her upper teeth.
2. In-office teeth whitening
3. Teeth preparation and provisionals insert
4. Porcelain veneers delivery
This patient presented with several functional and aesthetic issues:
1. Stained bonding on her two front teeth, central incisors that was breaking down.
2. Wear and chipping off the enamel on all of her front teeth.
3. Altered passive eruption.
Acid exposure along with Grinding and clenching teeth (bruxism) is a frequent cause of worn-down teeth. She wanted to protect her teeth from further wear and also address her excessive gingival display, also know as “a gummy smile.”
Also address is the boxy appearance of her teeth that before treatment did not confirm to what we consider aesthetic proportions and better height to width ratios along with a better relationship of tooth to tooth.
We developed a digital plan first along with the patient to ensure the treatment and end results meets all of our expectations. We then can 3D print guides and models that are used to help execute our procedures.
The treatment plan for 10 veneers went as follows:
1. Digital mock up of her upper teeth and fabrication of surgical guides.
2. Crown lengthening with Dr. Sarmiento, for better cervical contour and space for veneers
3. In-office teeth whitening
4. Teeth preparation and provisionals insert
5. Porcelain veneers delivery
6. Retainers and night-guard insert
7. Post-operative care and maintenance - regular cleanings

We're thrilled to share the incredible transformation of our patient who came to us with a desire for a complete smile makeover. They wanted to enhance the appearance of all 22 of their teeth by making them larger and whiter, and we were more than happy to help them achieve their dream smile.
Under the expert care of Dr. Raimondi, not only were the patient's oral aesthetics improved, but their teeth's functionality was also enhanced. This was done by increasing the vertical dimension of occlusion or , which is the lower facial height measured between two points, according to the NIH. By focusing on their premolars and molars, we were able to ensure that the patient's bite was perfect.
After everything was in place, we made sure to create a custom for the patient. This is a crucial step in ensuring that their teeth don't experience any additional stress due to grinding, which can damage their newly enhanced smile.
We were fortunate to partner with the talented team at Altior Dental for this project, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The patient walked out of our clinic with a beaming smile, and we were just as thrilled as they were.
It's truly amazing what a complete smile makeover can do for someone's self-confidence and overall well-being. We're grateful to have played a part in this transformation and can't wait to help more patients achieve their dream smiles!
