NYC Service was launched in April 2009 to lead the nation in answering President Obama’s national call to volunteerism. NYC Service aims to drive volunteer resources to six impact areas where New York City’s needs are greatest:
• Strengthening communities

Thanks to the Adams administration’s efforts, New York continues to be the safest big city in the country — with crime down for the seventh straight month in a row.
Keeping our city safe means investing in summer programming that brings young people together and gives them the resources to thrive. Last week, we announced that our administration is investing another $2 million to expand programming and hours across youth initiatives in underserved neighborhoods like our Saturday Night Lights program that engages young people across 140 locations.
Here at NYC Service, we keep New Yorkers safe by investing in our city's Youth Leadership Council Network, a network of over 200 youth groups focused on policy, practice, and advocacy to make local change happen. If you'd like to host a YLC make sure to fill out our interest form here ➡️ https://on.nyc.gov/3M12OKM

New York City isn’t just coming back – we are back. Thanks to the Adams administration’s investments in public safety, public spaces, and working people, we have again set the all-time record for the most total jobs in New York City history, and Black unemployment is at a five-year low, but we know there is still more to do. The mayor’s executive budget helps connect New Yorkers with good-paying jobs through our Jobs NYC initiative and just this week, the city is launched “Run This Town,” an ad campaign that will help us recruit the next generation of leaders who will help us build a more equitable New York City.
Here at NYC Service, we are creating pathways to employment in public service through our AmeriCorps program to grow our economy and support working-class New Yorkers.
