“At our baptism, we receive the gift of our baptismal identity as adopted sons of the Father. As a son, Christ Himself invites you on a journey to grow to 'the stature of the fulness of Christ' (Ephesians 4:13) in Him, as mature sons of the Father, fully alive in Him.”-Fr. Innocent Montgomery, CFR, in Born of Fire

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. ~Henri Nouwen

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”
Mary Oliver

December 2nd, 2023 marks the 43rd Anniversary of the Martyrdom in El Salvador of Maryknoll Sisters Ita Ford and Maura Clarke, Ursuline Sister Dorothy Kazel and Lay Missioner Jean Donovan. On this day we also remember the 70,000 Salvadorans who also perished during that nation’s civil war. Learn more https://bit.ly/3QMQFMx 😥💔

Our four Churchwomen, gave their “one wild and precious life” in service to the poor. Today, we pray that our “one wild and precious life” will become the living memory of Jesus in solidarity with the poor of the world. 💓
