Roman cooking prepared by Chef Sandro Fioriti. It all started with what seemed like a simple decision.
Sandro’s father gave him the ultimatum of either continuing his studies or going to work. He started washing dishes and peeling potatoes, working his way up in the kitchen of Ristorante Cacciani ( Frascati – Rome). On his 17th birthday he became sous chef to the renowned Franco Carbonari. Just a few days short of his 21st birthday in 1968, he won a first prize at the prestigious Circolo della Stam

🍽️ Updated Summer Hours at Sandro’s Restaurant 🍽️
As we adjust our schedule going into the final weeks of summer, please note the following updates:
📅 Panini Availability:
The final day to enjoy our delicious panini will be Saturday, August 24th.
Panini are served Wednesday through Sunday, so the remaining dates to get your favorite panini are August 14th-18th and August 21st-24th.
From August 14th to August 24th, all panini on our menu will be available at a special cash discount of $15! This discount is valid for takeout or in-house orders only, not for deliveries.
🍹 Aperitivo Hours:
Starting August 25th, we’ll be offering Aperitivo every day from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM.
🍽️ Dinner Hours:
Dinner hours will not be affected and will continue as usual throughout the summer.
Please note that we will be closed for dinner on Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd.
⏰ Normal Hours:
Both panini and Aperitivo will return to their regular hours on Thursday, September 12th.

Years ago, we were honored to be voted NYC’s best cacio e Pepe, a title we’ve proudly stood by. Recently, we noticed it wasn’t up to our usual standard. After careful consideration, we temporarily removed it from the menu. Now, with some adjustments, it’s back as a special, just how it used to be a few years ago.
We’re usually humble, but this time, we say it with complete sincerity. We truly believe it’s one of the finest cacio e Pepe dishes out there
Starting today our summer schedule will go into effect for panini and aperitivo! Panini will now be served Wednesday through Sunday starting at 11:30 AM. Please note, we won’t be serving panini on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Aperitivo hours remain the same, with a slight change on Monday and Tuesday-join us starting at 3 PM.

What an exceptional white truffle season it has been! To close out the season we will be slashing prices on all our white truffle dishes. Home made tagliolini will be $85 and all white truffle apps will be $45. We will keep these prices until our white truffle supply runs out.

The main differences between supplì and arancini are the regional origins, the size (supplì are usually smaller), the rice preparation (supplì often have a creamier consistency), and the filling options. Both are delicious and popular snacks enjoyed throughout Italy.
