Community United Methodist Church of Jackson Heights, Queens
Community United Methodist Church of Jackson Heights is a multiethnic church that welcomes all people to worship Jesus Christ.
Community Church is a bridge in a diverse community. Many churches in Queens have closed even as our community needs a healing word from Christ. Pressures built, in the neighborhoods, as new languages, customs, business, and ever increasing numbers of people arrived. The World’s Fair of 1964 introduced the sixty ethnic communities of Jackson Heights. In the years since, the Borough of Queens has

On Dec. 10, we lost a dear friend, one of our oldest church members. Annemarie Gannon passed away suddenly after suffering a fall in her apartment. If you knew Annemarie, you know that she always had a big smile and a word of encouragement. She had a gentle sprit and an elegant grace about her. She devotedly helped serve at our coffee hour after Sunday services for many years. Annemarie never had an unkind word to say about anyone, and we will certainly miss her as a friend and sister in Christ. There will be a Memorial Service for Annemarie at the church on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 11:00 a.m. All who knew her are invited to come celebrate her life.
