SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education) provides children from underserved communities with life changing opportunities through the experience of summer camp. SCOPE helps fund camp scholarships β€œcamperships” to send children who commit to staying in school to nonprofit, resident camps which will empower them to develop to their full potential. SCOPE reinforces the connection between ac

At Camp SAY where they believe every voice matters, the staff focuses on helping kids and teens who stutter develop confidence and independence. We were fortunate to get a glimpse into the supportive and encouraging community that has been created and talked to campers and alumni about the incredible impact camp has had on them.

SCOPE's 67 partner camps are committed to providing a safe, enriching, and engaging environment for their campers.

Yesterday, the SCOPE team visited two partner camps in Upstate NY: Eden Village Camp, a pluralistic Jewish camp grounded in agriculture and a focus on self-worth with no body talk; and Camp Homeward Bound, a camp that serves homeless children with overnight camp programs that include yoga, music, photography, archery, and so much more.

Although our partner camps offer a diversity of programming, they all strive to provide quality camp experiences for all children! Check out more camp visit photos at https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBwLx1

Our visits to Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp and Camp Pontiac illustrated how easily life-long friends are made at summer camp! Children and teens were planning philanthropic efforts, making biscuits at culinary camp, partaking in lakeside theater, and visiting the in-house coffee shop in their summer homes. There was enough camaraderie to remind us of each camp's motto: "Friends for summer, friends for life!" and "Always a friend." Thank you for allowing us to be a part of some of your summer memorable moments!

3 SCOPE Associate Board members, 1 long time SCOPE volunteer and supporter, and 3 SCOPE Staff members explored a new SCOPE Partner Camp for 2024, YMCA Camp Mason! They spent time seeing activities in motion: the high wall, nature, food exploration – including cutting fresh rhubarb from the garden and tasting it for the first time (for many), sports, arts, music, dining hall spirit, and even staff walking the plank. One of their many highlights was hearing camper stories of how important camp is for all children, thus confirming that if they were home, they wouldn't be living so freely amidst friends, in a safe and fun environment.

The 8th Annual Strides4SCOPE Taconic Walk-a-thon was the absolute BEST ONE YET! So many campers look forward to this day all summer long and mark it as one of their faves. This sentiment says SO much about the amazing efforts the camp leadership impart on the whole Taconic community. Thank you for continuing to infuse SCOPE and the fun of giving back into your campers' and families' lives.

It was amazing to be in the Poconos in Pennyslvania!

Molly and Deb spoke to 200+ Camp Lindenmere middle school and high school campers in advace of their two big initiatives this summer -- the Linden5K and Dance-a-thon. We're cheering on the entire Lindenmere community! Shout out to Kyle Garfinkel for a great intro (watch the video!)

For our first visit to Pocono Springs Camp, we had the best guides -- Dani Suchow, SCOPE Benefit Fun Committee Chair and long-time SCOPE supporter, Scott Leonard.

We loved seeing SCOPE Associate Board members, SCOPE Junior Leadrs, and SCOPE clubs represented!

What an honor it was to be at the Remembering Scott Gala: Dreams, Wishes & Vegas event on June 11. We celebrated the impact of the Scott J. Beigel Memorial Fund alongside our SCOPE partner camps Fiver Children's Foundation, Inc., Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Fresh Air Fund, Camp Herrlich, Camp Morty, and YMCA Camp Hi-Rock. We continue to remember Scott and keep his dream alive by helping to send at-risk, underserved children touched by gun violence to overnight summer camp.

This past weekend, a group of our Associate Board members rolled up their sleeves to help Trail Blazers Camps during their Operation Muscle event. Bari, Dana, Deb, Diana, Foster, Heather, Jake, Jared, Jenna, and Sara prepared their garden and planted vegetables for campers to enjoy this summer. It was a great team effort at this annual day of service at one of our long-time SCOPE partner camps. Many hands make light work!
