BLK and Bold, the first black owned, nationally distributed coffee brand, was founded by childhood friends Pernell Cezar and Rod Johnson. They launched their independent coffee and tea brand in Des Moines, where they remain today.

Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse, the first and only black woman owned comic and coffee shop, was created by Arielle Johnson in 2015 with commitment to representation and inclusion. They currently remain in Philadelphia.📖+☕️
