Community Boards afford the citizenry the opportunity to have their voices heard. Community Boards hold meetings every month that are open to the public.
This input is helpful in making decisions about how best to use city resources, including land and tax dollars. Over the years, modifications to the City Charter have given Community Boards a formal role in decisions on land use, preparation of capital and expense budgets, and monitoring service delivery. Boards also hold public hearings so that citizens can voice their opinions and concerns about

Calling all artists! Applications are open for the 2024-25 cycle of the Public Artists in Residence (PAIR) program! The PAIR program embeds socially engaged artists in city agencies to utilize their creative, collaborative art practice to offer innovative solutions to pressing civic challenges. The residency provides artists with $40,000 in funding. This year, artists working in all media may apply to work with the following host agencies:

📢👩🏽🏫 DV/GBV Service Providers are invited to join our VIRTUAL TRAINING: Identifying and Addressing Secondary Trauma on July 31, 2024, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
This virtual training will provide insights on secondary trauma and secondary stress injuries, with a focus on the overlap between:
• Burnout
• Compassion fatigue
• Various trauma
• Secondary traumatic stress, and their cognitive, behavioral, physical, and spiritual indicators.
Concepts like compassion satisfaction, vicarious resilience, and transformation will be explored as well as the risks and protective factors connected with secondary stress injuries. Attendees participate in activities to explore and learn individual techniques to lessen the effects of secondary stress injuries on providers' well-being across various domains.
