Washington, DC received the prestigious Cities for CEDAW Award today in recognition of its outstanding commitment to advancing gender equality through the enactment of the Cities for CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women) ordinance, championed by Council member Robert White and signed into law by Mayor Muriel Bowser.
Our Co-Chair, Pamela Morgan, proudly presented Council member Robert White the award at a ceremony in Washington, DC and commended Washington, DC for its exemplary efforts. By integrating CEDAW principles into local governance, Washington DC demonstrated leadership in advancing gender equality and ensuring a more equitable future for its citizens.

We will look at different aspects of the CSW68 with speakers from Member States, civil society, and UN spaces. The three main aspects we will cover are the CSW68 Agreed Conclusions negotiations, civil society reflections on the Forum and UN engagement, and looking forward to implementation, Summit of the Future, and Beijing +30.

NGO CSW/NY Women Ambassador Breakfast - Appreciation Award to H.E. Mrs. Zsuzsanna Horváth (Permanent Representative for Hungary at the United Nations) received by Hungarian Mission Representative.
Ambassadors from all over the world came together at NGO CSW/NY’s Women Ambassador’s Breakfast on December 5 as a celebration of female leadership within the UN and as an opportunity to coalesce around the ideas that will be discussed at the upcoming CSW68 this spring.
The event set the stage for the collaborative work that must be done in advance of March’s CSW68. NGO CSW/NY is committed to propelling its advocacy priorities and working with UN Member States throughout the winter to prepare for the NGO CSW68 Forum.
