We could not be more proud to call you our community!
And celebrate we did! In the sold out Cipriani ballroom, our 1,100+ guests from the finance, entertainment, philanthropy, media, and business industries gathered to raise a recording-breaking $4 million in support of OppNet’s mission to close the opportunity gap for young people of color and continue scaling our impact nationwide.
Thank you to our vibrant and generous community of Fellows, Alumni, partners, staff Board and Associate Board members: the energy and commitment you brought last week will be felt long after all the confetti is cleaned up.

Last week, OppNet was so fortunate to have 40 of the most influential women in NYC gather in support of our students. Hosted by filmmaker and women's health advocate Tonya Lewis Lee, our 'Women of Impact: A Winter's Welcome" event celebrated the power of professional networks and the achievements of women across multiple industries.
Event co-chair and Founder/CEO of 3:08 Collective Chanda Gibson told students, "Your is something no one can take away from you" and we couldn't agree more. We're so grateful for the incredible women who gathered to open theirs. A special shoutout to Lioness Cuisine LLC for catering!
OppNet is deeply disappointed and angered by the recent release of the College Board's new African American Studies AP course curriculum, which excludes the work of many influential Black activists, writers, and educators.
The voices removed share a theme–they explore intersectionality, the q***r experience, and Black feminism.
In caving to the Florida governor’s criticism of its original framework. The College Board profits (over $1 billion in revenue annually), and far-right politics win plenty. At the same time, the young people of this country continue to lose out on the quality education they deserve.
Our communities deserve so much more.
