The All Stars team is excited to announce our collaboration with KPMG on the Empower High School Experience this summer. This internship introduces high school students to fields like public accounting and professional services. Interns engage with KPMG mentors, gain career insights, and experience a professional environment firsthand.
On June 5, 2024, All Starsβ Shadae McDaniel, Craig Pattison, and Jessica Montalvo led KPMG Empower high school summer intern coaches and staff leaders in βThe Building Blocks to Bridge Building and Belonging!β training at the Lakehouse KPMG campus in Orlando, Florida. This program now spans 15 cities and includes 250 interns, and weβre so proud to be partnering with KPMG on their growing program.
It was a high-energy, interactive session that encouraged expanding worldviews, taking risks, and supporting each other with listening, curiosity, and vulnerability. π Congratulations to everyone involved in this inspiring program!

π The All Stars Project is proud of our thriving partnership with ICA Cristo Rey Academy in the San Francisco Bay Area. Together, we're creating a model for how educational institutions can advance workforce development initiatives using All Stars' performance-based programs and methodology. π
At the recent July 8th freshman orientation, our ASP staff co-facilitated the MAPS session, incorporating improvisation and other activities. Through our development-through-performance methodology, students grew beyond their comfort zones, embraced mistakes, and performed curiosity. They will carry these skills throughout orientation, school, and their corporate work-study jobs!

π The first half of 2024 has been a whirlwind of growth and development! π We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful community for enabling us to reach hundreds of underserved youth across New Jersey with free youth development programs and activities.
π We are thrilled to announce the graduation of 78 young people from the Development School for Youth (DSY) spring semester, marking our largest class ever! Our keynote speaker, Ruby Brar, a devoted NJ board member and the head of procurement at RBC Capital Markets, shared her inspiring journey from Canada to New York, overcoming challenges and finding her footing in a new environment. Ruby's message of perseverance and resilience resonated deeply with our graduates, encouraging them to never give up on their dreams.
π Our 2024 Internship Campaign has been a remarkable success! We have placed 81 young people in internships across NJ. A significant highlight was the first in-person Supervisor Development Training in five years, hosted by Port Authority NY & NJ, with special thanks to DSY Trustee Chris Wolff. Port Authority is also hosting 20 interns this summer - doubling their 2023 total.
π We're launching an initiative to reconnect with our alumni to celebrate 25 years of the All Stars Project in New Jersey. An alumni committee is coming together to volunteer, raise funds, organize their cohorts, and set the stage for this celebration.

We are so grateful to everyone who supported the All Stars Project of Chicago's Creating ONE Chicago Spring Benefit! π Over 200 people joined us to celebrate another incredible season of development.
A huge thank you to our honoree, Doug Brody, Community Leadership Award recipient, Bevon Joseph, and event co-chairs Bobby Ge**er, Bob Kurinsky, Sonia Menon, and Greg Mutz for making this a resounding success.
Our hearts were touched by youth and alumni speakers Jocelyn Pina and Kaylyn Ragsdale, and we were entertained by a phenomenal performance from The Happiness Club. Special appreciation to Karen Jordan of ABC7 for reprising her role as host for a memorable night.
Together, we raised over $483,000 to fund our Chicago programs. Let's keep this momentum going! Partner and grow with us as we continue to create environments where caring adults and young people grow and develop together! π
ππ What an exciting start to Chicago's internship season! This month, we had an incredible Internship Prep Session hosted by the amazing team at Berkshire Hathaway.π
With 34 ambitious young professionals in attendance, the day was filled with valuable learning and networking opportunities. Our friends at Berkshire Hathaway led fantastic workshops on "Preparing for Day One" and "Crafting Your Elevator Pitch," ensuring everyone is ready to shine this summer. π
We capped off the day with a fun pizza party, where new friendships were made, and connections strengthened. We're thrilled for what's to come this season and can't wait to see these talented individuals grow and succeed! πΌπ
π Last week, the All Stars Project team hosted an incredible "Operation Conversation: Cops and Kids: Creating Conversations" workshop. We were thrilled to collaborate with players and staff from the New York Jets, officers from Newark Police Department and NYPD and youth from NYC and NJ at the Jets' Florham Park training facility.
π€ Our performance workshop focused on building relationships through listening and curiosity. Following the session, the Jets graciously hosted dinner in their cafeteria, where meaningful conversations continued.
β¨ The feedback was overwhelmingly positive! Participants shared their challenges, community responsibilities, and the importance of their roles. New connections were forged, paving the way for transformation over time.
