Our grandmother, Peaches, would have gotten such a kick out of this passage. It’s even more exciting that her great-granddaughter was just sitting on a Sunday morning, reading her novel, and stumbled across this passage on her own. Thank you for making your novel so real, but especially to us. 🍑
Join us in support of the hard work done by the Bedford Stuyvesant Preservation Coalition. Every little bit helps!
The Stuyvesant Heights Historic District was designated on September 14, 1971. It includes 430 buildings, many of which date back to the 1870s, across 13 city blocks. The district was amongst the city’s earliest designated historic districts – the third district established in Brooklyn and the FIRST in a predominantly Black community. It closely followed the rediscovery of nearby Historic Weeksville and the Hunterfly Houses.

We’d like to take a moment to give a shout out to our team. These guys are the truth. Through thick and thin, they show up and deliver consistently.
Through the worst of the pandemic, they prepared tens of thousand of meals for first responders, front line workers, and the food insecure.
They are truly amazing and genuinely some of the best people we have met. Here’s to them!
