I'm not crying, you're crying. Ok...I was crying. A LOT.

One big final release of emotion after a bashful walk with the collection (promise I'll get better at soaking it all in!) Between the models telling photographers to "stop!" (😅🤣) me having a very public processing of what raw parts of my soul I just laid bare to the world, my ride or die friends/ models surrounded me with an immediate insulation of love and protection that lifted me from a very vulnerable place to one with perspective. This me holding it together for a photo.

Thank you for your faith in me to meet my moment. Three months ago, spoke to the legacy of the late Virgil Abloh, and the generosity of his time to mentor aspiring young minds, saying time and time again, "I got all the time in the world". For someone who didn't have as much time as others, a true leader led by example forever changing how the world's largest fashion conglomerate took the responsibility of their platform's reach and power to effect positive change seriously. It is a vision for "Future's Past"; When we look back, we will connect the dots through fashion history to moments like these where partnerships kicked open doors and designers of color are respected.

Another legend, moved me tears after the show. I will forever hold onto your words: "Thank you for filling a void for us. Now we can take our seats, sit back, and say THAT'S what we can do."🥺😭

I didn't know when I first heard speak about HFR in 2017 that I would be here today. And now, looking back, it all makes sense. Dapper Dan was in that room. My design mentor was in that room. And SO many of my NYC family who have pushed me, believed in me, and supported me through highs and lows were in THAT room.

Thank you so much to my mentors, the ENTIRE show production team, the stunning models of such admirable character, my hardworking assistants and interns, and for the birthday wishes that have made my 32nd birthday the most vivid, memorable, and fulfilling to date.

It's been 7 weeks since the Fabric Act was announced by . Here we have yet another devastating and ironic ruling from SCOTUS limiting the oversight of the EPA for setting standards on carbon emissions. With no north star, who do we follow? Creators, keep going. Collaborative consensus is a virtue not a weakness. Creativity is the only way we're going to problem solve our way out of this. Bad systems MUST be redesigned. That is our purpose as designers.

Thank you for lending access to your platform that we all recognized as a poignant season for new creative talent to be seen for American Fashion. Without the introduction provided by you would not see the beautiful images lensed by and his team become a reality. Photographed in my studio that lives within a Garment District factory, I am proud to share the very real context of my American dream rooted in survival. The weekend before this shoot I rolled up my sleeves and installed the flooring myself that the table Mr. Chen and I built sits on today. I reaffirmed my willingness to roll those sleeves up and forge that hopeful vision I could not accomplish without the love and support of my dearest friends, loyal family, talented sewers, dedicated interns, endearing models, generous mentors, and talented collaborators behind me.
