Prominent civil rights leader and executive director of the National Urban League, Whitney M. Young, Jr. was a key figure in the Urban League movement, advocating for economic empowerment and social justice for African Americans as the organization’s executive director. He played a pivotal role in expanding the Urban League’s influence and his legacy continues to inspire and guide our ongoing work to address inequality and empower marginalized communities. The mentor application for the 2024 cohort of Whitney M. Young, Jr. scholars is now open!!! We are looking for 20 dynamic people to help provide mentorship, guidance, networking, and support to our mentees as they embark on this new journey. The impact of a mentor lasts forever!

🚨State of Young Black New York (SOYBNY)is back🚨
Join us as we provide a dedicated platform for young Black and Brown voices to be elevated and heard. By hosting panel discussions, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities, participants will have the chance to delve into important topics such as mental health, the intersectionality of the Black and Latino communities, and the significance of active involvement in the 2024 election.
The Black Marketplace will also be featured, allowing local businesses and entrepreneurs to showcase their offerings! The event will kick off with a welcome address from the Young Professionals (YP) President, followed by a ceremony speech from NYUL’s President and CEO, ARVA Rice.
