Welcome to the NYPD Chief of Department's official page, proudly serving New Yorkers.

07/05/2024

Yesterday marked the birth of our great nation. As someone who has dedicated his life to serving this city, I am so proud to stand beside the members of our NYPD family who protect the people of New York City every day. As we gather together this weekend to celebrate and reflect on the importance of yesterday’s date, it is fitting that we take time to salute the dedication and commitment of our officers.

Happy 4th of July weekend!

Our Rapid Response Team continues to be a bridge between the NYPD & our community. Earlier this month, they joined the African American Clergy & Elected Officials for an event honoring Lieutenant Gordon for his well-earned promotion. I was humbled to also be honored for passing the NYS Bar Exam.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for any information leading to the apprehension of the individual responsible for a heinous crime that occurred in Kissena Park on 6/13/24.

A male suspect, described as Hispanic, approximately 5’ 5” with curly hair, in his 20s, and last seen wearing red sneakers and carrying a green backpack, committed an act of r**e against one 13-year-old victims in the vicinity of Colden St & Kalmia Ave. This abhorrent individual forcibly removed the victims’ cellphones before fleeing the scene.

As a father myself, I can only empathize with the unimaginable pain and suffering this family is enduring. It is paramount that we as a community / city come together to seek justice and ensure the safety of our loved ones.

Please help us in bringing this MONSTER to justice. If you have any information regarding this incident or the suspect, please contact at 800-577-TIPS (8477). Proud of the NYPD Finest Football Team. They worked hard, came back from some early mistakes, & defeated NY’s Bravest in the NYPD v New York City Fire Department (FDNY) Football game this weekend.

Your NYPD cops are the best in the business. Pivoting & adapting is key on the gridiron, & in keeping NYC safe.
