Dance, Drum & Imagination at Cumbe!

We are currently in Session 2 Celebrating New Orleans with our campers ❤️

We put on a dazzling carnival honoring New Orleans, the birthplace of Jazz and home to one of the world’s most celebrated Mardi Gras Carnivals! After two weeks of dynamic dancing, pulsating percussion playing, creative craft-making and furious fun, we’ll invite family and friends to our once-in-a-lifetime carnival party! We’ll parade to syncopated beats, sashay in our handmade beaded costumes and feathered masks, dance our own second-line, tell of the shared history of African Americans and Native Americans in New Orleans, and enjoy yummy treats with African, Haitian, French and Spanish influences.
