We post a lot about outdoor living but we also bring the outdoors inside for better working. Our designs for these two workspaces prioritize connections between inside and out. One features the largest terrarium in the Northeast, in the other work and breakout spaces are defined by green.

Our Story

HOLLANDERdesign|Landscape Architects creates environments filled with unexpected textures, colors and sounds that appeal to all the senses, inviting you to truly live outdoors. The firm designs gardens and landscapes at every scale, from exquisite urban terraces to sweeping country estates and the nation’s leading cultural institutions. The firm’s approach to the site’s natural ecology, its architectural ecology, and its human ecology – meaning the ways in which people will use the property – creates artful, enduring and eloquent outdoor experiences.

Gardens and landscapes by HOLLANDERdesign can be found from the Hamptons to Hong Kong. The firm regularly appears in the Architectural Digest, New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal as well as numerous books on landscapes and gardens.

Hollander Design is one of very few landscape architecture firms included in Architectural Digest’s AD100 List of Architects & Designers.

Our founders, Edmund Hollander and Maryanne Connelly, met in graduate school hovering over a pencil sketch and a book about plants. They quickly discovered they shared a compelling, holistic approach to landscape design which they’ve instilled in their firm. Today, a staff of more than 25 landscape architects work across the firm’s three offices in New York City, Sag Harbor, N.Y. and Chicago.
