Congratulations to Dov '24 and Michael '24 for their incredible work on "Far Down on the Heights Called Dyker: A Photographic Journey Through the History of the Poly Prep Country Day School." Their meticulously crafted, 177-page book beautifully explores many facets of Poly's history from the old building on 99 Livingston Street, to the ever-changing nature of some of Poly’s most notable spaces, and more.
June 7 marked Changemaker Day at Lower School, an extension of Protest Day, dedicated to community building and action. Students made their voices heard on important issues such as water conservation, immigration, maintaining clean communal spaces through acts of service, and more.

Brooklyn Pride's mission is to "increase visibility, acceptance, and inclusion to ensure equality for the LBGTQIA+ Community, honoring the Spirit of the Stonewall Riots," so if you were there, you showed up for the necessary vision of this mission. Upper School hosted their Pride Assembly today with guest speaker Schuyler Bailar as the keynote. A former Harvard swimmer, Bailar is an educator, author, and the first trans athlete to compete on an NCAA D1 men's team. He shared with us the story of his upbringing, his experience as a groundbreaking D1 athlete, and answered questions from student and faculty panelists and the audience, highlighting the importance of mental health and education on transgender inclusion.
It was an evening of curricular excellence and celebration of learning at LS Open School Night yesterday. Students proudly guided their loved ones through displays of their projects and classwork around the school, played music for an admiring audience of families, and spent quality time with friends as summer approaches. ✨✨
Cum Laude is the country’s oldest secondary school scholastic honor society. In 1906, Poly became the fourth school to join this prestigious national scholastic honor society, which numbers over 250 member schools.
