Buckner's Blueberries
Buckner's Blueberries is a you-pick berry farm located at 1914 Big Bend Rd., Nixa. We grow red raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries.
Our berry season runs from about mid-June through about the second week of July.
The drought and heat in the summer of 2023 along with limited watering capacity severely impacted the 2024 berry crop to the extent we will not open for berry picking this year. We have completed some aggressive pruning and hope to have berries to pick in 2025.
Hope to be open somewhere around June 18, 2024 next year.
I believe the blackberries have been picked over this morning.
July 4, 2023. We had a lot of people out picking today. This Thursday, July 6th will be our last day for the 2023 season. Normally our season lasts longer than it did this year. We only have a few blackberries and blueberries left to pick. After Thursday we will pick what is left for our freezer. Thanks to everyone who came out this year.
Today is July 1st. We will be open today, closed Sunday and Monday. We will be open Tuesday, July 4th. Next week may be the last week we are open. Things can change and we may close sooner. We still have a good amount of ripe blueberries and a few blackberries.
A lot of blueberries ripened Sunday and Monday when we were closed. There are more ripe berries today than there was at the end of last week.
We have had a lot of people pick blueberries the last few days. A lot of the ripe blueberries were picked. There are still some ripe berries and some that will need a few days to ripen.
We will open Tuesday June 19that 7:30am for blueberry picking. We will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 am until noon each day until the blueberry season is over which is around the second week in July. Please remember we are not set up to process credit cards as we are not a big time berry farm. This is more of a hobby for us rather than a business.
6/12/23. Looks like we may have enough ripe blueberries to open in a week to 10 days.
5/21/23. We have been getting calls so it’s time for an update. It will be about a month before our blueberries ripen. We planted all mid-season varieties for better quality berries. Our berries start ripening around the 20th of June and last through the the first week or two of July.
Pebbles and I have been planting a new variety of blackberries that are supposed to grow the best tasting blackberries ever. If things go well we will be able to taste them next year to see if they really are the best tasting.
I’m not sure I have seen this many blossoms on the blueberries before. Our honey bees have been busy. 4/21/23
We have been very busy bottling honey from our hives.
