After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting from Oklahoma City University, she worked as a TV news producer at KCTV5 in Kansas City, near her hometown. She married a Navy officer and moved to Yokosuka, Japan where she became a journalist at the largest overseas Naval base. Several years later, she moved to Northern Virginia then Maryland where she became a reporter and fill-in anchor

Vacation was great, but it’s nice to be home. And look at this sunset!
Our trip home didn’t go as planned. Our flight went from delayed to cancelled! The next flight they offered was three days later — so we drove from Ft Lauderdale to Virginia Beach! I’ll be back to work the morning of New Year’s Day, but in the meantime, I hope to get some rest. Thankful to be home safe and sound.

Busy time of the year, but had to share these little blessings. I have the day off to run errands. I squeezed in a trip to DMV today to renew my license. Under 20 minutes total! (After making online appointment). Afterward, I stopped at WaWa for a cappuccino. A gentleman recognized me as being a news reporter. Then later at the check out, he called me over and paid for my drink! 🥰🎄
My heart breaks for this family. I hope they can at least get some justice.

What a blast from the past! I dug out the old GoPro that I haven't used in years and have only used while SCUBA diving or snorkeling... and found video of our dive several years ago in Cozumel. It was the first time I had done a backwards roll off the boat. I remember being so anxious.

This all came up because this past week, I got to do two stories on the Virginia Beach Fire Department and how they're training on dive equipment so they could use it to perform an underwater rescue.

Last night, our director Sarah-Beth had her last night with News 3. She will be greatly missed.
It was also my last night filling in anchoring a live weekend evening newscast at News 3, as changes will be happening to the format of the show.
I will continue doing my best work and thank everyone for the opportunities I’ve been given, especially the viewers for their support.
