A lunch club with significant fraternal characteristics. It is the oldest club of its type in Virginia.
It is a club of unique character that has remaind a magnet to Norfolk's leadership and business community. Its membership includes the executive ranks of Norfolk's corporations, professions, judiciary, and city government.
Join us at The Virginia Club one week from tomorrow to hear Chad Ballard and Ned Harris of Ballard Fish & Oyster speak about the burgeoning business of aquaculture in Virginia and try some of their oysters!

Thanks to Richard Ottinger and Lynwood Lewis for joining us at The Club yesterday for our candidates forum. We had a great crowd of members and guests on hand to hear them. Good luck to each this November as they face off for Virginia's 6th District Senate seat.
Board meeting tomorrow May 22 at noon.
The Club will host the annual Christmas party during the downtown Norfolk Christmas parade this Saturday. Salad, pizza, dessert and adult beverages while the parade passes just outside. Bring family and friends. Minimal charge per person but pretty much all you can eat!
The Club will be closed Monday, October 29 because of Sandy.
Come over to Trilogy at 6pm today and raise a glass and play some cards.

Luncheon Speaker reminder: Chief Mike Goldsmith Norfolk Police is our noon speaker tomorrow September 26th.
Kenneth Chandler, Portsmouth City Manager will be our luncheon speaker on Thursday November 1, 2012. He will speak about the Portsmouth waterfront revitalization, Midtown tunnel and all things Portsmouth.
The board voted unanimously to extend casual Friday's past Labor Day.
The luncheon speaker for 9/26 is new Norfolk Police Chief Mike Goldsmith. The 10/17 speaker is Wayne Shank Executive Director of the Norfolk Airport Authority.
The Club also just confirmed Delagate Chris Stolle (R/Norfolk/Va. Beach) as our luncheon speaker for November 28, 2012 at noon. We are very pleased to have Chris as he appears to be a rising star in the General Assembly.
Board Meeting today noon (8/22). Two speakers are committed for September 26th and October 17th. They will be announced at board meeting.

We had 32 members and guests for our speaker's luncheon today. Meal was terrific! Paul Hirschbiel gave a great talk and question and answer period. It was an honor to have Josh Darden, Harvey Lindsey, Monty Knight and other senior members enjoying lunch and fellowship.
The board discussed a business meeting for September during a Thursday lunch. It probably should be members only and allow us to discuss Club business. More to follow.
Now through Labor Day we allow casual Fridays in the Club for lunch. Long pants and collared polo are acceptable! Enjoy. Also Texas Holdem night for a Wednesday evening in the Club beginning with social at 6pm and cards to follow. Date soon.
Board today accepted reciprocal Club agreement with The Bull & Bear of 901 E. Cary St., Richmond, Va. The club ia a private dining club (lunch also) on the 21st floor of One James Building overlooking the James River. More will come by email later, however, we must send a letter of introduction to the Richmond Club when you wish to visit. Dress is business casual. I will post more of our meeting notes over the next several days.
